I have had my hotpoint washer dryer for about 4 months, I got it to replace my last hotpoint washer dryer which only lasted for 3 years before it broke beyond repair. The washer dryer has loads of different washes, heat settings and dryer times, I must say it took a bit of time to get used to everything on it but I got there eventually. I am happy with the washer dryer as it does what it is supposed to do and washes and then dries the clothes. I have found that even with the fast wash, it takes a lot longer to do the cycle than my old one ever did, it just seems to take ages. Also when drying the clothes it takes a long time unless you only have a few bits in there. I have also found that when using the dryer, the clothes don't smell all that nice after, its not an awful smell, but nothing like the powder or conditioner that the clothes are washed with. If hotpoint could find a way of cutting down the time it takes to cycle and also get rid of the smell when drying the machiene would be fantastic, but for now it is what it is, and that is- not the best!
I have owned this Washer Dryer for some time now and have found both pro's and con's with it. Ease of use: great ... there are plenty of settings dependant on the job...i.e. white washings, light load, different temperature settings, etc. However, that's where the positivity ends. This is the second washer dryer that I have owned (last one was a Zanussi) and just like the last one it comes with problems. For the first while it behaved, then I started getting a problem with it when I set it to dry. It comes with a variety of dry settings ... iron dry ... wardrobe dry ... dry after the wash cycle or just use as a dryer ... the list goes on. Unfortunately, what I discovered was that this washer/dryer doesn't actually like to dry anything. After 5 minutes into the drying cycle it lights up like a christmas tree with every light flashing an error. You turn it off, reset it and start all over again. 5 minutes later you are back to square one. I have tried every variation of settings with every variation of load weight ... but still no joy. My conclusion: buy a washer or a dyer but not a combined unit.
