I have owned a Hotpoint and an AEG but find this John Lewis the best so far.
I like the JL reputation for after sale support as well.
For the price, I think this washer-dryer is good value for money, reliable and offers a really good wash quality. Not on a par with a Miele at over £1000, and this is why I only give 4 bars for quality, but a great middle-bracket buy....morePrice Comparison for John Lewis JLWD1404

I bought this washer-dryer 5 months ago after careful research into efficiency, water useage and reliablilty, as well as after sales backup. It is brilliant for us because of the extra drum size, which for a family of four means fewer wash cycles. I can also fit a single duvet in as well!. The machine is quiet, cleans very well indeed with the water coming in from the top of the drum and so all the washing gets soaked quickly, which is great if you use oxy type stain removers because they can fizz and react with all of the wash as soon as the water touches them.
