I recently bought this machine sight unseen from a website. That was a bit mad I suppose, but it was just about £400 which is all I had for my budget. That is a good price for a washer/dryer. I paid that for a washing machine before.
We are not good at plumbing round here and a lot of water and swearing ensued when the manly one unplumbed the nosiy Zanussi.
This new machine is very easy to use and makes lovely tinkling fairy noises at the termination of each cycle
(unless you turn it to silent, but why would you?).
It has little lights and you can turn the programme knob very easily in either direction, and much button adjustment is possible for spin speeds, drying times and rinse cycles.
The drum size is very large and I was amazed how many satin jimjams and silk peignoirs I could stuff in it.
It is definitely mansize and will tackle any sort of washing from cashmere sweaters to boilersuits (not that I have many of those).
The washing comes out nearly dry at the top spin speed of 1400, so that saves on drying time.
The delicates cycle is excellent, which is fabulous- because that is the main one I will be using.
I found that you cannot cancel a program easily once you start it, I initially found that a bit worrying. If you turn off the machine for a bit it does eventually cancel.
I also found that the drying cycle takes a bit of getting used to, you have to get a rough idea of how long things may take. 1hr seems about right for two towels. It is not infinitely variable, you have to choose preset incremental timings like 1hour, 2.4 hrs etc for drying.
The handbook is bit confusing, but it is so easy to use you may not need it.
One thing I would say, is it does clean my washing incredibly well, much better than the old Zanussi.
I am not sure how that could be, but maybe it is the bigger drum size.
It has a nice quickwash facility, that is what I tend to use with the delicates cycle. You can adjust the temperature and spin speed within these facilities, also rinse cycles .
I am used to cleaning fluff from filters of machines, but this ( so far) has none. That is a good thing I hope.
