Creda Advance Condenser Tumble Dryer ... what has a song title by UB40 got to do with a tumble dryer? Well the sequence of events that led up to buying the Creda advance condenser tumble dryer will forever remind me of this song. To begin at the beginning. We were on our third tumble dryer, these had all been Hoover’s which I suppose is not bad for 30 years we had never had much trouble with the machines and were quite happy until something peculiar started to happen, which at first seemed totally unrelated to the Tumble dryer. Zanussi FJS1225W ... bought one of these in January 2001, and so far I'm fairly pleased with it, though obviously it's still early to pass judgement completely. The FJS1225W has a delay start feature, which I like, because I can load in in the evening and delay the start to early the folowing morning, when I may have the energy to put the clothes on the line. The machine is generally pleasant to use and has a nice big door instead of a little porthole, as on my previous Hoover. BUT - and this is a big but - on two occasions that my wife has washed her bras in it, it has chewed them up completely, so that the bra wire has come out and stuck in the holes in the drum. White Knight High Speed Reverse ... dryers are more expensive to buy than electric ones, but running costs are significantly lower. I bought a Crosslee White Knight high speed reverse gas dryer in 1994, anticipating heavy usage (our baby son was on the way!). For nearly a year it performed excellently, but then began to deteriorate. Whilst still under the year's guarantee, the dryer began to take a very long time to dry clothes - two or three hours, and then the clothes were not completely dry. I called in Crosslee's service contractors, National Homecare Ltd, in 1995. They were terrible - it them about 6 weeks to clear the fault.
