Advantages: Quiet as a mouse, fast spin speed and large (7kg) drum

Disadvantages: Minor point really - to set the wash programme accurately you need to bend down

I've had my AEG washer-dryer for a few months now. It was bought to replace a Bosch appliance that had given many years of good service but was definitely on its way out. The things I particularly like about this machine are as follows:

- It is very quiet. I often set my washing machine to run through the night when my electricity is cheaper. My bedroom is right next door to the kitchen but the machine is so quiet it's hard to know it's actually on sometimes.

- the machine washes and rinses extremely well

- It has a large drum capacity. I don't often have huge, heavy loads of washing but I can utilise this if I want to.

- having a large drum capacity means that I no longer have to tumble dry my clothes in two batches.

- the machine has a max spin speed of 1600 so clothes take less time to dry. Brilliant if you live in a small flat and are concerned about condensation or you just must have a top washed and dried by the morning.

- several spin speeds can be chosen

- the useful delay-timer feature combined with gentle spinning and tumbling features mean that I can programme the machine to start at say 4am and be confident that I will wake up to beautifully soft and dried towels.

This machine was a Which? best buy and I can understand why. It's fab, I love it.

The only reason I didn't give it the absolute maximum score is that the dial to set the wash programmes requires you to bend down to ensure you've set the right programme. Looking down at it from a standing position you can be fooled into thinking it's on a different setting.

Secondly, cleaning-wise, the washing powder drawer is not easy to clean but then none of them are. A regular detox on boil wash with some white vinegar seems to be keeping it mould and smell free so far.

Summary: Great piece of equipment but pricey

Welcome to Dooyoo. An impressive review here from a new member. If I was to uy this I'd like to know how much it is? You could update this info to your review but it isn't compulsory - just that it would inform buyers a little more.
