Advantages: fairly quiet, delay timer, washes well

Disadvantages: written off at 4 yrs old

My four year old machine has just been written off by AEG's engineer who then charged me £55 for his opinion. I bought this machine because it is the 'Which' recommended model.

The enginner tells me that I need a new motor for this machine and possibly a new PC board. The cost of the new motor is £220 without VAT. All in all it will be £350, to 'possibly' repair the machine.

The motor is overheating and then cutting out without finishing the cycle. The motor cannot be accessed because it is a sealed unit.

Until the machine started to cut out (about three weeks ago) I was very happy with its performance.

This machine has not had an undue hard life. We live in a soft water area and did not use the machine every day.

I expected my machine to last a bit longer than this.

Welcome to Dooyoo.

A few tips to get you started on the site: Although there's no limit on the amount of reviews you can post it's better to post just three a day then you'll find you get more reads. If you read and rate around the site you'll soon find out what should be included in a review plus you'll get known to other members which will result in them reading things that you post.

It’s always a good idea to write your reviews as though you are writing for someone who has never heard of the product, that way you’ll cover everything. Also it’s best to write your review in Microsoft Word and run a spellchecker before posting onto the site.

You can ask any of the guides for help with any aspect of the site and a list of all the guides can be found here http://www.dooyoo.co.uk/c ommunity/_page/advice_gui des/. They will do everything they can to help with your query.

Lastly you can sign up for your own guest book at http://www.crosswordcheat s.com/tooyoo/ where you can chat with other Dooyoo members.

Above all I hope you enjoy it here and have fun :O) Sara
