Excellent machine but with a problem (AEG Lavatherm 57700)

Advantages: Easy to use and efficient

Disadvantages: Long term reliability with heater element problematic

I have had this machine for 6 years. When it is working it is excellent, however there is a fundamental design problem with the heater element.
The design is such that it will fail over a period of time the only question is when.
When it first failed it took AEG 4 attempts to successfully replace it.
On the second occasion now AEG have already attempted to replace it once, which failed after 2 days and are now incapable of suppling a spare with more tha a 3 month guarantee. The price of fitting the spare is half the original price of the machine.
AEG reply is that there is no problem but the technicians admit that they have an ongoing problem.
Would not rtecommend purchase until AEG resolve the heater problem, which is a pity because in all other espects it is an excellent machine.
AEG/Electrolux own up to your problem and sort out your customer's problems

Summary: Pity a good machine spoilt by supplier head in sand
