Advantages: Big enough for a double duvet, high spin speed .
Disadvantages: None really .
While looking for a new washing machine I decided I wanted one with a large enough drum to take a double duvet,
this was a priority for me as I was fed-up taking my duvets every so often to the dry cleaner's,
Apart from the effort of taking them there, I was spending extra money when I could be washing them myself.
In addition to a larger drum I was looking for a machine with a spin speed of up to 1600.
To save a lot of time I checked online first to see if there were any sales on and found that Curry's were having a massive sale.
They were selling a lot of machines with a washload of between 5 and 6 kg with spin speeds of up 1600.
After checking my options I decided to buy the Ariston A1636 which has a 6 kg washload and spin speed between 1200 and 1600. and is rated class A wash efficiency and class A Energy efficiency.
I bought it shortly after moving into my flat 2 years 4 months ago, so I've had it for 2 years 3 months.
The machine is a brilliant white gloss colour and is really quite nice looking, it has an extra large porthole (door opening) with push button and dials on front along with the LED lights and dispenser, and looks quite sophisticated and expensive when in use with the LED lights on.
It was very easy to plumb in with help from my son. and as with all washing machines was heavy but once moved into position it fitted nicely under my standard height worktop.
This machine has a cold water supply only, so it's the machine that heats the water, but this costs no more to run than having a hot and cold water supply machine.
The machine takes a big washload so more washing can be done in one load, and with the bigger porthole makes loading easier, I find it washes and rinses very well, I've always had good results with the whites and the colour's and the 1600 spin speed is amazing! my washing dries very quickly when put on the radiator driers and my duvet dries within a couple of hours if hung-up indoors....................The higher the spin speed .....the drier the washing.
When on the wash cycle you would barely know it was on it's so quiet, but when on the 1600 spin cycle I find it a bit loud but if I close the kitchen door I can hardly hear it,
This washer comes with too many programmes to mention and I have'nt got round to using them all, but it's good to know they are there if need be, the main programmes I have used are the pre wash, wool wash, rapid wash, half load and anti crease option and all with good results.
The machine is easy to keep clean with a wipe down with a damp cloth and the detergent/softener dispenser is easy to remove and clean too.
I'm very happy with the wash performance and the overall look of my machine and in over 2 years have never had a problem and would recommend it as a good buy.
I bought this from Curry's in the sale for £249.99 reduced from around £450,
I've checked and found it is still for sale at many online shops with full description and details and is still available for around the same price.
Came with an easy to understand manual.
Curry's offer delivery and fitting service.
Summary: Good wash results and well worth the money.
