I purchased this washing machine just after christmas, with it being the time of the year where money was tight, i searched online for the cheapest washing machine available and bought it from asda direct online. it was delivered within 24 hours, but to my disappointment within 2 days of having it plumbed in it was leaking and rattling. I got a replacement washing maching after 5 weeks - yes 5 weeks of arguing the toss with Beko. In all id say the washing machines are very cheap, not reliable. a standard 40 degrees wash takes upto and hour and a half, sometimes longer (for some reason), they are noisy when spinning, not reliable. ive had my replacement washing machine for approx 5 months now and i regret not spending more and buying a hotpoint. another problem with the machine is, once i turn it on, it sometimes doesnt start, but if i gently bang on the door then it will start the programme..rubbish! please dont waste your money on beko, spend a little more and get something worth buying, once this washing machine dies i will but a hotpoint again!

- 16/08/09 I too- make the mistake of buying a Beko washing machine at a cost of £199.00 from Grattans catalogue and paid the full amount when ordering.
The machine was smart/modern looking and reasonably easy to operate -just what my daughter looking for -(its her first flat and wanted everything just so!)
NERVER AGAIN will I buy anthing from Beko or from Grattans.
My daughter lives on her own and probably does about 2 average loads a week- so it's not heavily used.
Just after 1year the machine stopped working and after contacting both parties(BEKO and Grattans) they abdicated all responsibity- each telling us to contact the other as it was not their problem. We called out an engineer(free call out) who stated that this is a common problem in lots of Beko washing machines and he has been out to may people with the same or similar problems to ours. It said that he was very surprised that it had lasted as long as it did- as when the water intake valve goes it must be replaced at a cost of about £75 approx. I am still arguing my case with Grattans and they are extremely hostile in offering any assistance- even although this has been going on since Jan this year and in the meantime my dughter has a lovely looking washing sitting in her kitchen which is totally useless and is spending a fortune at the laundry or bringing her back washing home.
The machine was just over a year old and I would have expected it have lasted longer than this with such light use. So in the circumstances I would advise anyone considering buying a Beko to seriously think before doing so. Like the previous reviewer i would advise spending a bit more an a more reputable brand that will last more than a year and offers more in the way of customer service.
Ps My mums hotpoint is still going strong after being used everyday for the last 22 years. |

- 16/08/09 I too -made the mistake of buying Beko I bought it for my daughter (single person)and it was ok for about 13months then it stopped taking in water -Beko dont want to know and Grattans are equally as disinterested. An engineer has said that the problems is the water intake valve an that the fault must have been inherent and we were lucky to have it last so long. He has said that he is always getting call outs for this and would advise anyone against buying Beko, after our experience i too would advise- spend a bit more and get a decent machine |
