      good but not quick

      I recently bought this in black for £219 from Argos ( think it was on offer at the time) to replace my VERY old machine so I might be a bit biased when comparing it as believe me my last one was from my granny's time.

      But on with the review. I'm a busy Mum of 3 including a 6 month old baby so a good washing machine is essential as I do at least 3 loads of washing per day every day. The 7kg drum is sufficient for the loads I do and the functions on it are great as there are a lot to choose from including a baby and toddler cycle and sports cycle. If put on a quick cycle it takes around 15 minutes but any normal cycle does take a couple of hours which I find strange for such a new machine. I expected it to be much faster.

      It is a study machine and looks great in the black only criticism I have about the machine itself is the start button has at times got stuck in from around its second cycle and has to be popped back out with a knife.

      Does the job, and does it well!

      After years of faithful use from my Hotpoint, it decided to stop working on a Thursday a few weeks ago. As a mother of two humans and two animals, panic set in immediately - I can't manage without a washing machine! I needed a new washer quickly and didn't have much spare cash to spend on one. I simply wanted a washer that worked and could be delivered quickly for as little money as possible. An online search led me to the Beko WM72CWP.

      The price was the first thing to grab my attention. It was reduced from £250 to £180 at Coop Electrical's online store, which was virtually the best price I could find for a brand new washing machine. It also came with free next day delivery so I plumped for this one.

      On arrival I was suitably happy with what I received. Set up was easy as it simply needed the transportation screws taking out and then connecting to the piping I already had in.
      The washer doesn't look as good on the outside as my previous one, but it does the job and has a good range of washing programs. The temperature and spin speed are controlled by push buttons locate on the top panel of the washer, with a light to indicate the selection. A spin dial is rotated to select one of the various wash programs including:

      * Cotton
      * Cotton eco
      * Synthetics
      * Delicates
      * Mixed fabrics
      * Sportswear
      * Hand wash

      To be honest I mainly use the mixed fabrics setting for most of my washes but it's nice to have the choice. The hand wash is a great feature as it's something I loathe to do in a tub, but this take the hassle out of it. The instruction manual that comes with the washer is excellent as it's clear, concise and makes it clear what all the different wash cycles are designed for.

      This Beko also has a larger weight capacity than the other well priced machines I had looked at. This one takes a maximum load of 7kg as opposed to the more usual 5 or 6kg which is great for me as I do have a habit of putting a lot of clothes in the machine.

      This machine is also relatively quiet in comparison to my previous one. No washer is going to be silent, but I was pleased that this one doesn't sound like it's about to take off when it's spinning!
      A full load on the main programs takes about 80 minutes, but this depends on which program is selected. An option for a quick wash is available for a light load of lightly soiled clothing, which takes less than half the time.

      In summary, I am pleased with this washing machine and would recommend it to anyone who, like me, wants a well-priced washer that will do its job without hassle.
