My wife and I bought this washing machine for £200. We chose it because it was a brand we know and was within our price range. We maybe should have spent a bit more to get a better machine but this was all we could afford at the time.
The first problem we have with this machine is the length of time it takes. I have never sat down and timed it exactly but it is around 2 hours to wash a load. It had no digital display or anything which counts down how long it has to go and there have been times I have thought I would wait in a bit longer as surely it will finish soon and then gave up and gone out. It is energy efficient so this may make it take longer maybe it takes longer to heat up the water. It is an A in energy efficiency.
It holds a lot which is good and the settings are easy to choose. There are lots of different options and for some reason we always keep it on the same one but you can choose delicates, cottons and so forth as well as a variety of temperatures and how many spins you would like it to do. The more spins it does the less wet the clothes are. The highest amount of spins it can do is 1200 per minute but you can choose less if you wish.
It is quite a noisy machine. When this is on we can hear it all around the house and it makes the wall it is near vibrate! Definitely not one to have on when the babies are in bed!
Sometimes we don't turn it on when we think we have. The button to turn it on and begin a wash is also the same button for 'pause'. If you push it in for a couple of seconds it will delay the wash by 2 hours. Sometimes we have pressed this button wanting it to start but have held it for slightly too long but then if you dont press it firmly enough it won't register at all! Quite a fine balance! The delay option is a good one to have though, you can delay it for up to 6 hours which is really useful, sometimes we put clothes in and then go out but time it so that it will be finishing for when we get home.
It does wash clothes fine and it is basic enough. We wanted it to wash our clothes and it does that! It could be improved in many ways but then it probably would have been out of our budget too. It's average, if you're on a budget it will do but it's nothing spectacular.
It holds up to 6kg of washing which we think is a good amount. I know you can buy ones which hold more but for us this is fine.
It's an average height for a washing machine at 85cm which means that it fits in the space for it in our work surface just fine.
Sometimes the rubber coating near the where the door closes gathers bits from the clothes like fluff and the odd residue of tissue so this needs cleaning out regularly as it goes a bit mouldy. We just do that by using a tooth brush and a cloth and that usually is enough for it to be clean again.
I have had this washing machine for around two years now and it's still going strong. I bought it from Argos for £189.97.
The washing machine looks nice. It isn't too large in size and it's the same colour as the rest of the appliances in my kitchen. It looks sleek and elegant and it comes with an instruction manual if the look of it scares you at first! To be honest the washing machine is simple and easy to use. You simply load your clothes, add your washing powder (and fabric conditioner if using) and select your programme. I do like the washing machine but it does have a few flaws.
The washing machine has a short time delay when it has finished it's cycle, this means that you can't remove your clothes until it has "beeped", which seems to take forever. This is normal on washing machines, i'm not stupid, however this time delay seems a lot longer compared to previous washing machines that I have used in the past. This can be a little frustrating if you're in a hurry. Also, if you cram too many clothes into the machine it will not work, so you have to get the right balance of clothes, which can also be a little frustrating.
Having stated the flaws of the washing machine it is easy to use, it has the right number of programmes and my clothes always manage to come out clean and white.
Not a bad washing machine overall.
We purchased this washing machine for £209 when we moved into our first flat. We were starting from scratch so had to purchase everything, so to us price was more important than quality. We thought we could upgrade things as we went along.
This washing machine has a 6kg drum which I find ok for the 3 of us but I imagine with a larger family you would want something bigger. It has 6 settings, including a quick was which lasts for half an hour the other washes such as 90 degrees and delicates last for 2 hours which I feel is a long time. It does get clothes clean on the longer setting but I find the quick washes are only really suitable for a couple of baby things otherwise it just doesn't get them clean. There's also an issue with clothes coming out being quite wet. The spin speed is 1200 but I feel this is not enough as it usually takes 2 full cycles in my tumble dryer before clothes are fully dry.
All in all this washing machine does what it's supposed to and for the money we paid for it if it lasts 2 years I'll be happy. I would purchase this machine again in the same circumstances but I will purchase a more expensive model next when we don't have the expense of kitting out a whole house. It's very much a 'will do for now' model.
I purchased this machine at the reasonable price of £199. I was also told in store that this machine was meant to be very energy efficient so that was a bonus.
It has a spin speed of up to 1200 which can lowered. The load capacity is 6kg, which I find sufficient.
It has various wash programmes such as pre wash, quick wash, extra rinse cycle etc as well as all the usual things like delicates, synthetics, cold wash and hand wash programmes.
There is a time delay setting that can be used on this machine. This is useful if you are going out and want the machine to just be finished when you get back or you want it to be ready for when you get up in the morning.. The settings on this are 3, 6 or 9 hours.
This machine has proved to be of good standard and fit for the job
We get through a lot of washing in our house with two children making a mess so a good washing machine is essential, this unfortunately is not the best and I would not buy it again. Whilst essentially there is nothing exceptionally wrong with it is can sometimes make life harder than it is. washing generally comes out clean it is not always as dry as it could be and so you have to spin it again before it can go in the dryer or on the washing line which can be annoying when your busy and having to wait for an extra spin cycle. The controls are simple but there could be some better settings, teh quick sysle is too quick and clothes don't come out smelling freash but lightly worn items don't always need a full 2 hour cycle, something in between the two would be nice. The last thing is that over load it with heavy items such as jeans and it is prone to leak a bit.
I have had my washing machine for 3 years now and I feel it is very important to share the downside of the machine I bought to stop anyone else buying it and making the same mistakes!
The reasons I bought the machine were that it was white and looked good also, it was one of the cheapest washing machines at £199.99 from Argos with free delivery. It took larger loads 6kg at the time this was a large load! It also offered a good spin 1200 rpm, which mean the clothes, does not come out soaking wet.
The washing machine offers some great features such as half load, quick wash which takes about half an hour and my favourite id the time delay so I can set the machine to start in either 3 hours, 6 hour or 9 hours this is very handy as I can set it the night before or as I leave for work so I can be out as it washes and the clothes doesn't end up sat in the machine for hours. There is also an option for Extra rinse and extra spin. Extra rinse is very handy for the dogs bedding etc.
The machine has a pull out draw for powder and fabric conditioner. The draw does get very mucky and so do the pipes down into the machine but this seem to happen with all machines. The draw can be pulled right out for cleaning if you press down on the catch. The draw comes clean easily.
The problems I have with this machine are the out of balance load control system, which means if the load is not level, the machine will not start. The start light will flash and you have to open the door and balance the load before it starts. This is nearly impossible if you are washing rugs etc, which are heavy, and it is hard to get the weight balanced. This feature drives me round the bend as I have loaded the machine and put in on before leaving the house to come back and discover it has not washed and the start light is flashing! Really annoying. The machine seems to be hype sensitive on the balance of the load and it is really hard to get it equal. I have spent some time sat in front of it swearing because I cannot get the machine to start.
Overall this machine is good my clothes comes out clean and it good condition it is 3 years old and no sign of slowing down or giving up. It was good value for money at the time. The spin on the machine does seem to be quite loud but I think all machines are loud! The machine has some great features apart from the load balance with is horrible and very time consuming. I will try to buy a machine without that feature next time.
