“ Brand: Bosch „
Having previously owned two AEG's, we looked around for a replacement as the second one approached its tenth year. With a large family, i.e. four kids and an overdraft,we needed something that was durable, easy to use, reliable, and not outrageously expensive. We opted for a larger capacity machine, and two personal recommendations for Bosch swayed us away from AEG (whose comparable machine was also more expensive). One Saturday afternoon arriving home to find the old machine sitting apologetically in a smoke haze forced the decision to buy. An online price comparison and purchase gave us a new machine within 15 minutes, with a delivery a few days later. Buying online was a joy, although they didn't take the old machine away. We particularly liked Bosch's sound reputation, the machine's good design - it all seemed logical and simple, and the options that this model provides - additional rinse options to remove last traces of washing powder (useful when you have kids prone to ecsema, and 'reduced ironing'- welcomed when you have an ironing pile that never quite seems to go down. Once set up,expectations were surpassed on virtually every count. It's quiet, stable, easy to operate, and the clothes changed colour when they were washed for the first time in it - they were just so CLEAN!! Pitfalls - only two small ones found so far: it's sometimes helpful to know how far through the programme it is, and just when you'll be able to get out the clothes you forgot to wash the other day. The machine doesn't have this - just three lights for 'ready','operating', and 'finished'(all pretty obvious really). The other is that it doesn't have a time delay for those who want to use it on low rate electricity.
