I find a tumble dryer is a necessity, rather than a luxury. I know I could spend my time running in and out of the house, hanging out dripping washing on the line, bringing it in again when it rains, keeping an eye open so that I can hang it out again, when it's dry...but what a palaver! It's so much easier to chuck all the wet clothes into the tumble dryer, switch it on and forget about it. The Bosch WTA 3100 tumble dryer is the first brand new machine I have owned, in the past I managed with a second hand one. I took my time chosing the machine... I wanted a large drum, so I could fit in lots of washing, all at one time or fit a large item, such as a single duvet, into the machine. I wanted a large door, to make loading and unloading easier, my old machine had a "porthole" door and it was like a wrestling match, trying to squeeze bulky items into the dryer. I also wanted what I hoped would be a reliable make...a couple of days without the machine working and I would be in danger of drowning under the tons of dirty clothes, generated by my family. This Bosch machine pretty well meets my requirements... You can tumble dry up to 5kg of damp washing, at one time...this means a whole load that I have washed, can be dried at one time, no need to sort it out and have half a load of damp washing sitting around the house. The door is very large...it is extremely easy to load even the bulkiest of wash loads. The door also pushes right back, which gives even easier access. The fluff filter is situated in the door and is simple to slide out and clean. My only critism is the very cheap and plasticy design of the timer...it always seemed very fragile, compared to the sturdiness of the actual machine, and eventually broke completely and needed to be replaced. Apart from that one problem, I find this is an excellent tumble dryer and I would
certainly recommend it, or it's more up-to-date version.
