Advantages: Vast capacity, reverse

Disadvantages: Not sure!

I have just moved house. Part of the deal (again!!!) was leaving my tumble dryer – so off to the shops I went - actually I sat on my PC and trawled the net for my new purchase and I bought a Candy CIV100 dryer. This is a vented machine so is cheaper than the condensing variety.

Advantages:-

Very quiet in operation – much much quieter than my last one – or is that because it is in the garage in the new house, which means I can’t hear it!!!!

It has C rating which means it’s not the most efficient but it isn’t the worst – anyway you have to pay a lot more for an A rated machine.

Very easy to load, it’s got a reasonably large opening at the front to stuff your washing in, easily takes a king size duvet cover and a sheet in one stuff!

As with all dryers it has 2 settings, I have found that this machine is pretty good on the lower setting whereas with my old machine I used to always use the higher one.

Takes a 10lb load which is about the size of your washing machine load so there is no need to split the drying.

Large load capacity means its great if you’ve got kids, also the larger the dryer, smaller the creases, less ironing (or no ironing at all) major advantage, it is also reverse action – a MUST with dryers in my book, ones with out a reverse action have a habit of baking in the creases, making your ironing harder! Not good.

Disadvantages:-

As it is a vented machine you have to either cut a hole in your wall for the vent (as we did, or stick the hose (which comes with it) out of the window. If you don’t you can get very misted up very quickly. We have even vented it in our garage, as hubby didn’t want his precious car bits (big hobby!) rusting!!!

Summary: Good machine for the money - hasn't let me down yet!

Nice review on the dryer... but I agree with you wholeheartedly you must do all you can to stop your hubby's precious bits getting damp.

A nice enjoyable review to read that covered the basics to any tumble dryer. Vicky.
