With the joy of three young children, my washing pile is never ending, so I obviously need a reliable machine. We were bought ours three years ago when we moved into our house, and considering it does up to three or four washes each and every day, we have never had one minutes trouble with it. It is quiet, washes well and very simple to operate. There are options for fast washes for freshening up towels, etc; a wash for delicates for things like the blankets I crocheted for my children. These come out lovely and clean despite all things babies can throw at them, and not a bit out of shape. I tend to do mainly three types of washes - fast for towels and bed linen, boil for whites and low-ish temp for all the mixed stuff. Occasionally my partners work jeans get a high temp wash if they are REALLY dirty, but the machine is so efficient this does not happen very often. When I have to think about buying a new machine, if they still make these, I would not hesitate to buy another. It is a machine that I would definately recommend to anyone who asked!
How does someone begin to decide to write an opinion on a tumble dryer? Its easy in my case, I had a big shock today when battling with the washing to hear the most strangest of noises coming from my tumble dryer...indeed it sounded as though it was on its last legs. Luckily after going a shade of white and panicking and a cup of tea (me) the machine started working as normal, big phewwwww. But I got to thinking as you do, how long had we had the machine, as well as thank goodness we do not need a new one just yet!!! I have had my creda for thirteen years (longer than I have been married) and never had to have a repair or replacement part. I paid £79.99 at a Norweb store, younger members will not remember these shops but they had their moments, and I paid £5.00 a week, interest free, in those days it was a lot of money for a new housewife!!! There are only two heat settings, warm and really hot, and the drum can take up to 3kg a time. The recommended drying time are as follows: Heat setting 1kg 2kg 3kg cottons HIGH 25min 40min 60min synthetics HIGH 25min 40min 60min acylics LOW 30min 70min n.a. Typically a pair of jeans on high takes 20 minutes but obviously more items slows the drying time. I have had excellent service from my dryer, especially this last year with a new addition to the family of my daughter, not just her clothes but nappies too, so its been a busy machine and done me justice. Still today has made me realise perhaps it is time to visit the lovely repair man and have a service, maybe there is still life in the old machine yet!! Hopefully when the inevitable does arrive I will find the same machine or similar, and the other good point about all this...ITS BRITISH!
