Advantages: Excellent wash quality, Huge drum

Disadvantages: Colour and Size

Strange as it may sound being a 17 year old male is an excellent place to review a washing machine from. I am not biased by years of excellent service from my crusty old Hotpoint bought back before I was born and I'm doing my own washing and have been for some time. I’m not however, a washing technician and so I need something that is going to be simple and easy to use that isn’t going to cost me a lot to run and I am going to expect to receive excellent after sales service from the manufacturer. Also I have the advantage of selling washing machines every weekend. Now although some of you may doubt this we do actually receive extensive training and so I am fully aware of the different capabilities of the washing machines and unlike many of the other sales people I don’t just sell what makes me money I sell the customer the best washing machine that they can afford. For many people this is the Dyson CR01 memory.

Priced at £1198 the Dyson has been a constant topic of conversation since arriving in our store and even if people don’t buy one they are quite happy to stand and listen to me talk about it all day long as if I were a Dyson sales rep. Now I don’t get paid any extra for doing this but I feel obliged because of all the work that Dyson have put into the machine. Features aren’t everything and the Dyson has many features but where the Dyson really wins me over is that all of the main features have a very definite advantage to their inclusion and so these features have become benefits for myself a happy Dyson owner and also for the people that happily buy them from me every week without any complaints so far. The only minor problem so far is that one stray machine arrived damaged on delivery but this is probably down to a heavy handed delivery man than Mr Dyson himself.

Dyson have been very clever with this washing machine. To start with it has 2 drums and not just any two drums but two huge drums giving
it a load total of 7kg which is the biggest in the market. By having the two drum system the machine decides form what you tell it is inside which type of washing action to use. For some larger items the drums will both spin the same direction in order to not tangle the wash but with a smaller load such as a standard cotton wash the machine with use the two drums in opposite directions. This is the clever bit as by doing this it is able to replicate the washing action of a human hand wash and so the clothes are more thoroughly cleaned much more quickly and with less detergent. Thus making the machine cheaper and quicker and generally all round more efficient. Many single people would think that this machine isn’t for them, the drum is much too large for one person. That’s a popular misconception as with a larger drum you can do one large wash per week and not have to do many small washes saving time and effort and reducing running costs. For busy people the Dyson wins again as it has a time delay which allows you to set the machine so that the cycle finishes as you get in from work so that the washing isn’t sitting inside the drum all day and you can finish it off as quickly as possible. Other neat features which have obvious benefits are the flow check system which monitors the level of water in the drums and if the correct level is never reached the water is turned off to prevent a flood, something which many other washing machine manufacturers have not thought of. This is a safety feature that is particularly useful for those people who are not in the house a lot and wish to make use of the time delay function and use the machine when they aren’t in.

The Dyson is an excellent machine, it may not be designed quite to everyone’s taste and it would never look right in a lime oak kitchen as I get told every week by the inhabitants of Horsham but I cant see a problem! My main advice would be for people not to write it off befor
e they have had one in their homes or spoken to real people who have. Just this weekend I served a lady who bought two Dyson washing machines for a stables. “They’re the only things that will wash horse rugs, nothing else is up to the job”.

Selling more of these than ever now as Dyson have reduced their prices and also brought out a new Machine in a new colour. Yes folkes you guessed it the Dyson washing machine is now available in white (with just a hint of purple - wouldnt be a dyson otherwise!)

Pity he hasn't actually used one of these machines.
As for the horse rugs... it would be a lot cheaper to buy a large industrial machine designed for that job. Still I suppose the person concerned drives a purple discovery and it co-ordinates well?

The purple one is ugly. My white one is much nicer. (see my opinion!)
Nice write up.
