Purchased my Hoover Quattro system washing machine approximately two and half years ago costing approx £400 at the time. I prefered, at that time to use washing power in my washing machine, until it started flooding out of the dispenser drawer. Called out the repair man who explained that the new design feature on this model was a U type bend to the machine via the dispenser draw, this avoids odours from the washing machine been dispersed. He explained that the U bend contained water and if a user were not to use the 90 degree washes the powder was getting clogged in the U bend and causing the machine to flood, no remedy was available other than to run a 90 degree wash every few washes, or not use washing powder. Also, he informed me to remove blockages the machine had to be tipped forward and boiling water pored into the dispenser to dissolve the powder. I now use washing liquid in the dispenser draw, aviods bleaching of clothes. Since the early days I've had a new programme fitted to the machine after it got stuck on a cycle and tripped the downstairs sockets, 2 new door, a rubber seal, and a new dispenser draw, the old one didn't dispense conditioner as it should, have a better design now! This apart the washer works fine, although I do find it difficult to cancel a programme if set, just won't cancel so I have to proceed with the programme. In my opinion whilst the wash itself is good there are too many design faults on the machine and no-one is able to fix them. I don't enjoy having to use liquid washing liquid but am unable to use any alternative. Luckily, I purchased the 5 year guarantee with my machine, so this solves repair costs. I did contact Hoover regarding this matter but to no avail. As a long time purchaser of Hoover laundry products I seriously will be considering a new manufacturer next time, and would not recommednt this machine to anyone else.
I've had the Hoover Quattro for just under three years and have had three problems: 1. Drain pump failed. 2. Conditioner drawer fails to drain 3. Drum fails to rotate. The machine is covered with a 5 year extended warrenty and the parts were replaced but the Service Engineer did not have many good things to say about this machine. What are the good points? Good value for money at £400 for a combined washed dryer. The 1300 spin speed does a good job of drying the cloths. It is reasonably stable while spinning at 1300rpm. Bad points: no filter, this means any item can get through and destroy your drain pump. The time for the wash cycle is quite long. The feet adjustments for levelling the machine are only at the front. Reliability is an issue. Overall Impression: OK washer/dryer but poor reliability.
I’ve had my washing machine for nearly two years, I think it cost £400 it was brand new and I think we got it from ‘Curry’s’. It still looks new and has done a excellent job for me. I use my washing machine about three or four times a week, I am quite methodical and always put the whites with whites and colours and delicate separately, as probably most people are. It has a built in tumble dryer, you put it on a certain number after it finishes washes and it spin dries your clothes. We have to put in on G. If you want a garment urgently dried just put it in the washing machine set the timer for about 45 minutes drying time and it will instantly dry it for you. Very handy if you want to go out and need something very quickly. I have used the washing machine quite a lot and I think I have had only one problem in which I had to call the repair people out and that was because it was my fault and the door wasn’t shut properly, which was rather embarrassing. So I would say it’s very reliable and most important of all it cleans clothes well. You have to put it on T before the door automatically unlocks after it has washed, which is good because if you forget to put in on spin dry then all the water won’t come out and flood you’re kitchen. The washing machine also allows you to put it on Crease Guard, which doesn’t leave your clothes that creased. Overall a very reliable washing machine an excellent investment which is well worth the money I paid.
