We bought our washer dryer to use mainly as a washer, but we wanted a back-up if our tumble dryer went wrong. I hate the house looking like Widow Twanky's laundry when the tumbler goes wrong!!

I have to say that this particular washer dryer has been one of the most reliable we have ever had. It takes a 7kg load (though you do have to reduce that weight to 5kg if you want to dry the clothes as well) and has loads of different settings. You can choose what temperature you want the water to be. It's a cold-fill so heats up once it gets going. This is fairly quick too, so very efficient. The washing cycles all vary in time and it tells you how far the cycle has gone via a lighted gauge on the front. An average cycle takes about 1hr 20 minutes for a wash...longer if you add a drying cycle.

The washing quality is good. Never had any problems getting things clean and it spins almost dry. The spinner is a tad loud compared to other machines we have had. The dryer is good, though not as effective as a normal tumble dryer. It gets small loads dry in about an hour and there are different settings for how much you want them to dry. I do find that it creases shirts and trouser more than my tumble dryer and clothes are less easy to iron when dried in this machine.

Price-wise we paid about £495 for our machine, which is a pretty average price.
