Advantages: Easy to use, reliable machine
Disadvantages: Can be noisy especially during 'spin' mode, but you soon get used to it
My husband bought this washing machine when we first moved in together about 8 years ago. He bought it from a local business which used to sell machines that were slightly damaged costmetically. Our washing machine had a slight dent in the front, I think he paid around £150 cash for it.
-- Details --
The washing machine is made by Hotpoint and the model is Aquarius WF210. It is white, front loading and has a maximum 6kg wash load capacity. The energy rating is A. The dimensions are approx: Width: 59.5cm, Depth: 58cm and Height: 85cm.
-- Ease of Use --
I have found this washing machine very simple to use and it has been very reliable. I have had to call out an engineer to fix this twice, both times I had done something! The first time a colour catcher sheet had blocked the waste water pipe and the second time our pipes were blocked which meant the water couldnt drain out of the machine properly.
-- Settings --
The options for the washing cycles have descriptions with clear temperature settings. Examples: 40 - colourfast cotton. There are two quick wash settings, a 30 degree wash and a 60 degree wash. I tend to use the 60 degree quick wash for towels, bedding and tea towels, but for everything else I tend to use the 40 degree wash. There is also a handwash setting, which I do use occasionally as I hate washing clothes by hand. (I even go as far as not buying clothes that need handwashing!). You can also change the spin speed, I tend to keep mine on 1100 spin otherwise the machine shakes alot!
-- Overall Summary --
Overall I would recommend this machine as I have found it to be reliable and easy to use. It does get used alot due to a 3 year old and 5 week old baby (and a husband who thinks clothes live on the floor!). The only downside to the machine is once the cycle gets going, it is quite noisy. (Although we do have a small house, so maybe in a bigger property or where the washing machine was kept in a utility room you may not notice it as much).
Thanks for reading.
Summary: Overall an easy to use, reliable washing machine but it quite noisy
