Advantages: super fast spin, quiet machine Disadvantages: none yet! It is not easy choosing a new waser/dryer. It's a lot of money and you want to make sure you are not making a huge mistake. I did a lot of research before choosing this one and I have not been disappointed. I have had it for over 6 months, so still within the basic warranty anyway, but my last washer/dryer had problems from the start and we ended up getting rid of it after 2 years which is NOT good. A tip for you - if your machine starts to have problems within the first few months DEMAND a replacement, it is within your rights! The last one had to be fixed over and over, (days off work waiting in for the repair guy...) then we put up with it for a while, then it was out of warranty and they charge FORTUNES to send the guy out and then add on the cost of parts -aaarrrghhhh. Back to this machine. The outstanding Hotpoint WDD960. It is amazing. The top spin is 1600 and makes all the difference. Cuts out time in the dryer or on the line. Lots of choice on length of wash/fabric/drying etc. You will end up using the same old cycles, but thats ok, it's nice to have a choice. This is a very quiet machine, which is a big plus as we live in a small flat and don't want to be listening to the washing machine over the TV. Another fab thing is that if you forget to put in a sock, or want to stop it for some reason, you press the pause button and Bob's your Uncle the door unlocks. The digital screen also says 'hello' to you when you turn it on. No kidding. A real pal. Summary: not cheap but a great buy
