Very disappointed with Drying Capabilites (Hotpoint-Ariston WDL520)

I bought this washer/dryer a little over 3 months ago, as a replacement for my old zannusi model that had served me well for about 10 years. I got a good deal on the price £279. The washer/ dryer has several different programmes for washing a drying, but overall I am very disappointed with the machines performance. The washing cycles are all very long, well over an hour, with the exception of the quick wash, which doesn't clean the clothes particularly well. The biggest disappointment is the dryer part of the machine. There are time settings 40 minutes, 60 minutes, 100 or 180 minutes, you cannot do any other times, so no good if something just needs a 10 minutes airing. There are also 2 programmes for iron dry or store dry, which run directly after the washing has finished. The main problem with the dryer, is that it is very slow, a small load of lingerie can take up to two hours to dry, and much longer for towels or sheets etc. Based on this I would not give this machine a very good rating as its probably very expensive to use the dryer part of the machine, and much quicker to line dry or put n the radiators

Summary: Would not purchase this type of machine again
