Got this washer an it brill love the Eco wash an the child lock is brill an it's is very quite so can put on When going bed the drum is big, theres lots of wash cycles to choose from to suit all, would defo recommend this
A few months ago we were in need of a new washing machine. Our old one which was a combined washer dryer was drying the clothes in water basically so they came out all hot and wet and smelled like stale water and as we'd had the washing machine for about six years we decided it was time to get a new one. I decided to just get a washing machine and not a dryer as usually the only things I dry were underwear or towels, it would shrink other clothes so I just decided I could dry those items on the line instead and did not need a dryer.
We ended up purchasing a Hotpoint Futura HF8D393 and I believe it was in the £250 region. THe machine is a front loading washing machine and is white in colour with the circular door in the middle, the fabric softener tray to the left and the buttons and display screen to the right.
I will firstly mention my all time favourite thing about this machine, it has a child lock button on it! If you have a curious little boy like I do who loves to press buttons then this function will be a godsend. My machine is in the kitchen and free for him to play with so when you load your wash and decide what program you want on after you have pressed start you hold down the child lock button until it beeps and the little child smiley face icon shows on the display screen. Then, if your child pushes any buttons the machine will just beep beep beep at them and nothing will be disturbed on the washing machine, a brilliant inclusion in my opinion.
The drum is fairly large and will take a whole basket of washing, so that would include for example two big towels, jeans, underwear, shirts and socks although the less you put in the less creased it comes out which is always a bonus. The machine is very simple to operate which I like. To firstly switch it on there is a round on/off button that you press and this will bring the digital display screen to life. You can then choose from quite a few different programs which is handy depending on what kind of wash you want to do. These buttons are located in a circle around the on/off button and are also touch buttons so its easy just to press to select. The different washes available are:
Bed and BAth
and then there is the spin/pump out button
What I also like about this machine is that you can choose the temperature you want to wash at. I like to do my bit for the environment and always choose to wash at 30 degrees. There is a little temperature button on the right hand side so once you have picked your wash program you can then decided what temperature you want to wash at. I generally just use the cottons wash at 30 degrees and this lasts for 2:04 hours.
Another nice feature is that the time of the wash is shown on the digital read out screen and it counts down as the wash is going so I find this very handy just to see how long I have left in case I want to plan something else around the washing being ready to hang out. The machine also has a delay start which is handy if you're the type of person who does not like to have the machine going when you are out, you can set it to go on when you come back from somewhere and don't have to worry about forgetting it.
The machine has an A+++ efficiency rating and I find its been very economical and not a problem at all. On the side it also say that its a super silent machine. There are definitely times when I have to look at the clock to see if this is still on as it is so quiet but when it comes to the spin at the end this is still fairly loud but overall I have been pleased with the performance.
So far with a couple of months use my clothes are coming out lovely and fresh and perfectly washed with all the stains coming out and no rips or tears in the fabrics. I have been really impressed by this machine and would definitely recommend it.
