Advantages: Economical, Looks good
Disadvantages: 1100 Spin
I spent quite a long time looking for the right washer to suit my needs and ended up buying the Hotpoint WMA31. The washer comes in several colour options and I chose the Linen option to match the light wood units in my kitchen, and it does go very well with them. After 14 months the washing machine has certainly lived up to my expectations and functioned perfectly. I have found the "quickwash" option cleans lightly soiled clothes extremely well and in a very short time. The machine is also economical with an A grade for effeciency and an A grade for washing performance. The 1100 rpm spin speed is not the fastest but I have found that higher spin speeds can cause excessive creasing. One thing I have noticed is that if you do not press the timer saver button on normal cycles, the wash is extremely long, and therefore I tend to use this button all the time. If the machine is correctly levelled I have found it to be averagely quiet during the spin cycles. The door hinge and catch, which I find can often be a problem, are still working very positively. Overall the machine is easy to use, economical, and looks good as well.
