Advantages: Good price, washes well, flexible programs, good performance at eco washes, quiet enough
Disadvantages: None at the price
I bought this washing machine a month ago based on its low price and its Eco washing programs. I was looking for a basic washing machine in the lower price end of the spectrum which would be economical as well as deliver good washing performance and which would give me some flexibility in washing programs (my previous machine had only fixed programs and spin speed and temperature were fixed.
The layout of the control panel is simple and easy to understand, with separate dials for program, temperature and spin speed. There are three sets of programs, everyday (whites, synthetics etc at various temperatues) Special (lingerie, baby clothes (this programe gives an extra rinse to ensure baby skin is protected from potential irritation from washing powder), silk and wool, and the Eco programs for cotton synthetics and speed wash. Most of these programs can be customised for temperature and spin speed.
There are also some other selection buttons for Creases and Extra rinse etc. I have not used any of these expect Mini wash which speeds up the wash cycle for half the weight.
I was most interested in the Eco programs which are specially designed to wash efficiently in cold water - heating the water uses most electricity - but was doubtful that it could compare with warmer washes. I have to say I was very happy with the results I got from lightly soiled whites and coloured cottons. For medium to heavily soiled washes I think a warmer wash would be better but I will definitely be using the Eco programs for most washes from now on.
I have also used the Cotton program at 60 and the synthetics, both of which performed well. The Fast Wash program says it is for freshening up and it really does mean that. It is suitable for clothes that have been worn once and haven't been soiled at all, but certainly not for underwear or anything slightly dirty. There is a quick wash in the Eco program but it is not particularly fast at 60 mins.
The machine spins quietly at 1200 and gets the clothes dry enough. I usually use 1000 anyway to save a bit of energy.
In summary: this is a great washing machine at the price point for a low user (couple or single person). It delivers good performance at the lowest end of the price spectrum and with relatively low usage should be a good choice.
Summary: Excellent value for low use users
