Advantages: Large drum, easy to use, counts down remaining washing time, super spin

Disadvantages: only thing I can think of is the powder draw is a bit fiddley to remove for cleaning

I never thought I would get excited about a washing machine...however when my old one broke down and I replaced it with the Hotpoint Ultima I was amazed at the difference.

It is so easy to use, the digital controls lets you select the temp, how dirty you washing is, and then you press start and your away. The digital display tells you how long the washing will take to finish and counts down. So no more hangng about thinking, Is it almost finished ?I before going out because you know exactly how long the cycle has to run.

The 1600 spin is fantastic, I was amazed at how much dryer my clothes come out the machine (you can select a slower spin for more delecate items too). So the drying time is dramaticaly reduced. The far best thing though is that this powerful and effective spin cycle is so very quiet, I have a utility room so I was not that concerned with the noise level but this machine would be brilliant in a kitchen as it is so very quiet. (my mums washer cost a fair bit more and is quite noisy..she always remarks on how quiet mine is).

I love so many things about this washing machine, from the large family size drum to the easy programming and timer display but my all time favourite feature is the time delay feature. I put a load in before I go to bed, select the programme and then set the delay for the washer to come on for early morning...so when I get up I am able to hang my washing straight out. Better than putting it on at bedtime and letting it sit in the machine all night as I find this adds creases. Also brilliant if you have a few loads to get done in one day, and also ensures your washing gets on the line as early as possible in the cooler months when it takes longer to dry.
