I have had this for a few months now. no problems so far. Have this in white colour. instruction manual is wasy to understand and very descriptive with all settings and combinations of temperatures needed. dont normally need to use higher temps as most things now wash at 40. But easy to change tem if needed.
Fitting was easy! positioning of machine is easy. The washing settings are easy to understand and change for different types of wash. Larg drum for big loads which makes it easier as dont need to do as many washes. So far have not had ny problems with machine. Machine is used with ease by myself and my wife. One small problem that i face is that about oonce a month i need to remove the soap drwaer and clean as the fabric conditioner section can become a bit messy. But overall, great bit of kit. would definately recommend!!!
We have had this excellent washing machine for just over 6months and I am very pleased with it When we lived on our sailing boat we had a very large bucket with a tap at the bottom as a washing machine! The clothes were left overnight and the gently rocking (or not so gentle )of the boat did the hard work. Then we moved ashore and in the flat was a strange Aspes washing machine which was terrible, it took longer and longer to do a wash and at last I wouldn´t leave the house while it was on then, one happy day there was a flash and a bang and it was truly broken! "We will get you another bucket" said the Captain, "You will get a divorce "said the crew.
Off we went to the local electric store and selected a no nonsense Indesit washing machine ,no digital dials no bells and whistles, it just washes and spins which is all I want.
It arrived, the old machine whisked out (Bye!) and the new one installed by the shop people in about 20mins.
It has 16 programmes, all the usual from cottons through to delicate, my favourite is the sports programme which copes with our work clothes and the speedy programme which in 15mins will wash lightly soiled laundry. We had guests for one night over Christmas and I used this programme for their sheets and towels, great. It also has an eco programme which enables you to use less energy and water for a reduced weight of clothes. It´s 6kg capacity is certainly big enough for the two of us.There is also a delay start function ,stain removal and extra rinse .
The progress of the wash is shown by four little LED lights which switch on one by one to show which phase of the cycle is happening and the door unlocks after three minutes at the end of the wash.
I kept an eye on our electricity use after we got it but with it´s A Energy class ,A wash efficency class and B spin efficency class I couldn´t see any increase in consumption. It also comes with a clearly written instruction manual.
It is noisy I would never run it when anyone is trying to sleep.
If you have trouble with your eyesight it is hard to see which programme you have selected as the white dials only have a little raised line in white to place opposite the selected programme.I solved this by sticking a little bit of red tape on the line but Indesit need to look at this aspect as it would deter some people from buying it.
All in all though for just over 200pounds a great buy and I can now go out to scrub while my little scrubber works at home.
Thanks for reading.
We purchased this washer after having a really bad experience with another brand.
It is sleek looking and doesnt take up to much space, also it is easy to clean- the detergent draw is removable so can be washed.
It has many settings, the ones i use mostly are the white wash- which takes on average 2 hours. The flash cotton, which takes 45 minutes or less and goes upto 60 degrees and is thorough enough to remove minor stains. The 15 minute quick wash, this is fantastic if your in a rush- or just to quick wash items like cushion cothers, net curtains etc. It also has many other settings like cotton, coloured cotton, wool, trainers, sports wear, jeans etc. You can also do a manual setting where you set the temperature and spin yourself, handy for those delicate items of clothing.
It doesnt make much noise and it doesnt vibrate when its on a fast spin like many washing machines do. You can pause it and add clothes at any time, and at the press of a button you can put it on an intensive wash for those hard to remove stains.
Overall i have found this to be a brilliant item and would reccomend it to anyone buying a washing machine. We are a family of three and it washes our clothes brilliantly, especially my baby sons which come out spotless.
My 3 year old washer/dryer broke about a month ago and the engineer advised us that it would cost around £200 to replace the motherboard. Instead of having it repaired we decided to buy a new machine (actually, scrap that - my lovely Mum bought us a new machine - thank heavens for Mum's!). We made a conscious decision to go for a washer only rather than one with an added dryer for a couple of reasons - firstly, I was very aware that this was a gift from my Mum so didn't want her to have to go to the expense of a washer/dryer and secondly, and most importantly, I wanted to try and be alot more energy efficient - reducing our carbon footprint as a family is an important priority for us and i'm very much concerned that we were using the dryer needlessly instead of walking the short distance to the garden and hanging the washing out!
The indesit machine we chose was on special offer via asda.com, has a 5 year parts guarantee, could be delivered quickly and MOST importantly, has a spin speed of 1400 rpm which was a priority as we are trying to dry all of our clothes 'naturally'. The machine was extremely easy to connect - my husband who is not the most DIY savvy person managed to do it alone and the kitchen didn't flood the first time I used it so thats what I base that little observation on :-P The instruction manual is very easy to follow and describes each programme incredibly well. There are 13 pre-programmed wash cycles (all of which are very quite during the cycle), plus variable temperature and spin speed dials with the added bonus of being able to delay the start of the cycle via a timer which is particularly useful if you are out all day at work - being able to set the machine to come on an hour before you arrive home erradicates the incredibly creased clothes you would get if they had been sat wet in the machine most of the day.
Every cycle I had used has been efficient and has gotten my clothes clean and removed enough water during the spin cycle to enable them to dry with ease on the washing line or clothes airer. The only little niggle I have is the length of some of the cycles - a 90 degree hot wash takes over 2 hours which seems rather extreme although some of the programmes do give you an option to 'eco wash' which reduces the cycle time but you also must reduce the load weight accordingly. There is a 15 minute 'express wash' which is ideal for washing things that are only lightly soiled which I have found useful for school uniforms and I am very impressed that the machine switches itself off when not in use
All in all, a great machine for the price paid and it really has reduced the amount of energy we were previously using with our old washer/dryer
Having used automatic washing machines for 30 years, I must say this is the worse machine we have ever had. It just doesn't take in enough water. The cooler washes are very poor. Many things have to go through twice. Does not rinse properly. Clothes come out streaked with detergent. Have had repeated visits from Hotpoint engineers who insist nothing is wrong. Wash can be improved by putting about a gallon of water in with the wash. We plan to replace it with a reconditioned older machine as soon as posible.
