Disadvantages: None

A beautiful machine - and that's saying something considering it's a washing machine!

Now, i'm 23 years old, so you could well imagine that a washing machine would be last on my priority list when shopping for appliances for our new house.
The Indesit Moon, however, was at the top!

Just look at it, it's every mans dream - good looking with not many buttons to press!

For those of you that actually care what your washing machine does, i'll have a go at explaining this one.

5 buttons - and one of them is a power button!!
Press the power button, then the button for whichever wash you want... away you go.

LED progress indicator - this is sexy as hell. Glowing blue LED's let you know how far through the cycle it is, and when it's finished the cycle they pulsate beatifully (I'm a sucker for blue LED's!)

Alkalinity sensor in drum - detects detergent left in garments and rinses again. Great if you've hand washed an item - you can just throw it in and let the machine do it's thing.

A few other features:
Automatic temperature control, spin speed and wash intensity. Self-cleaning dispenser in door. Cold fill.

The in-door despenser is quite funky, with little floating indicators to tell you how much detergent is in there.
The only down side to this is that sometimes you get some excess water in the door and when you open it to get your clothes out it drips on the floor - nothing major though.

This is, at the end of the day a washing machine, so here's my views on using it everyday.
It's 6Kg drum is plenty big enough for the average household and can get through you're washes in no time, although one thing to mention is not to over fill it. This is because the detergent holder sits on the back of the door and closes into the drum - if you over fill it, it's not only difficult to close the door, but also the water doesn't flow very well through the holders and so your closes aren't washed as well.

Once your clothes are in and you've topped up with your favourite brand of detergent, your ready to go.
Close the door, hit the power button and then choose you're wash cycle.
The standard cycles are: 60deg (for whites etc), 40deg (for everyday), 30deg (for delicates) and another 30deg (for quick wash - which takes 30 mins).
Once you've pressed your cycle button, that's it, the door locks (indicated by a small red LED) and away it goes.

The machine is VERY quiet in my opinion - i've been to some peoples houses and struggled to hold a conversation because their washing machine was so loud!
I can only just hear this machine in full spin when sat in my lounge (which is only around 10 foot away, through two closed doors).

Ok, so wash has finished.
Take out the clothes and put your next lot in - simple as that - no cleaning of this machine at all. This is down to the great design that is the detergent holder.
As this is actually inside the drum (when door closed of course) the water washes through it and so nothing gets left behind.
The only maintenance, that i could see you would ever need on this machine is if a mechanical part broke... but day-to-day maintenance has been eliminated.

Overall a marvelous feat of engineering.... ok maybe not, but it's bloody good - especially if your looking for a modern looking machine too!
As always when buying I would definitely shop around for this. We paid around the £299 inc VAT - which unfortunately i found out later wasn't the cheapest. I have seen them for around £250 inc VAT and sometimes lower if on offer etc.

A much better update now. As impressive as this machine sounds, buyers are still generally warned of Indesit brand on the market because of poor reliability which is disappointing - I had an Indesit washer when I was a student for 4 years with no problems. Of course after that, problems started but I wasnt put that put out since it was cheap as chips to buy at the time.

The thing is though, despite the fact that it looks cool, how does it work generally? A lot more info is required here which will inform future buyers such as:

UK price
Noise
Quality of design and controls
Any practical programs like a quick wash function or child locks?
Easy to maintain or difficult to clean out of? i.e. are there any main filters that need to be washed out?
Whats the load capacity?

Rath er than elaborating on a stats list, general experience of this machine on a day to day basis would be handy to reconsider. If you update your review please message me.
