Indesit is an Italian company best known for it's good quality home appliances. It's products are highly trusted by housepersons and businesses alike throughout Europe. For your peace of mind all Indesit products come with a full 1 year warranty cover (which can be extended if you so wish).

This is not the largest washing machine on the market, so may not suit a family as big as The Walton's, with it's 46 litre drum/6kg washload, but it is plenty enough for an average family. It loads from the front so you can put it in your kitchen without losing valuable surface space. The door opens very wide which makes loading in tight spaces (like our pokey kitchen... ;o)) very convenient. The machine fills from the cold water mains only, beware having a shower while it's on if you have a mixer shower.

Want to do your bit for the environment then this is a great machine with an A+ energy rating (Energy Consumption of 1.02 Kwh) and a fairly low water Consumption of 65 Litres. It also has a quick wash programme which takes a pawltry 30 minutes; just enough time to drag yourself back upstairs to get the kids ready for school.

It does a fantastic job on getting your clothes clean (although I am sure the detergent help, I am yet to try it with my eco-balls to see how it does without chemicals) and your clothes do not come out of the drum dripping as the spin is very good for a machine in the under £300 price range.

Wash programmes: There is a delicate and a wool wash facility but you will need to read the instructions in the manual, which I might add is quite easy to follow. It does not, however, have a dry clean option which is a shame as otherwise the programmes are quite complete.

This is a beautiful looking item which is a great start for what has turned out to be a brilliant washing machine, probably the best I have ever purchased. The settings are remarkably easy to follow, without a mass of buttons to choose from, and although quite limited I feel you don't need more than it has. It is very quiet when balanced, the feet are adjustable so this should generally be the case, otherwise you may want to close the kitchen door and your lounge too for that matter...it can get noisy.

I love the fact that the inside of the door has multiple compartments for all your possible washing/softening/stain removing detergents, which is self cleaning: no more gungy drawers to clean out, it also has a sponge to collect any drips which I think is a simple solution to the safety issue of wet patches on the kitchen floor.

All in all I would recommend this to a friend and would purchase it again (providing it has a good innings).
