Indesit Washing Machine W103

had my w103uk for 8 years. performed very well, washed 2 kids worth of nappies over the years!
i think the drum bearings have just gone, but i paid £170 for it 8 yrs ago so its been great! and only £20 for new bearings..heres to another 8 years :))

I received this washing machine second hand but it was only one month old. I bought it for a very modest price because it was an insurance write off, and it was found to be a design fault that could be easily repaired. However after I bought it, more faults started appearing as time went by, until finally the bearings have gone in the main drum, and I think it is now time to replace it instead of paying to have it repaired again. Yes I would agree it is very easy to use, and has very un complicted controls, however, this particular version seems to have been doomed from the start with design faults that would eventually be it's demise. We have this machine and intermittantly after the cycle has finished the timer just keeps slowly clicking around and around. Called customer service who said just to turn it off and on again at the mains, which worked for a while but it's now doing it again. On top of that the temperature knob has just broken off with no force applied. It just fell to bits and left me with a handful of plastic. I bought this washing machine in October 2001. For the first six months it was great although the washing cycle was a little slow. I do at least two washes a day. In April there was an almighty crash and I called the repair man out. I was told that the drum had gone, plus the bearings AND the heating element. I then had to wait SIX weeks until it was repaired as Merloni Domestic Appliances told me the parts were not in stock.
