On the 27th December 1999, my washing machine broke down. On 30th December 1999, the day before the millennium eve, I went into labour and my son Liam was born. . =====+++++ UPDATE +++++===== So what does it cost to run? I did a full 11 lbs wash at 50° C and split the clothes into three bundles to dry. Each bundle went through the drying process for 40 minutes. The electricity meter told me that SEVEN (7) units of electricity had been used which would cost less than 50p. Had this washer dryer for a fair while until recently replacing it due to damage we cused by accident, and overall have been fairly impressed with the results when compared to other items in the price bracket. We have found that it does a very nice job of washing clothes as long as you maintain it well by keeping it clean and not allowing the pipes to get clogged up. The only wash we found to be not quite as good as the others was the very hot wash we used for plain white cottons - this did ok but not quite as good as our past machine. I bought this machine for a flat I rent out and it has got to be one of the worst purchases I have ever made. It has not owrked properly from the start when it filled up and flooded the kitchen on a couple of occasions. It was still under warranty at this point so we called someone from Indesit out to take a look. They said they could see nothing wrong with the machine. Then our tenants complained of getting electric shocks from the drum. Once again we called Indesit and they sent someone out to have a look. Had machine for less than 5 months, it has already broken down. Service agents are very unhelpful and the engineer has not bothered to pitch for 2 days even though we had to take time off work.
