Update machine purchased november 2009 last night, June 3 2011 hose burst flooding the floor I am not impressed, the machine was used no more than five times a week...you can spend less than £400 for this lack of durability.
further update: Repair man discovered the bottom counterbalance weight had shear...more

I bought the IWC Aw23 washing machine more than a year ago from a local washing machine repairer which is the way they are sold,though sometimes they are offered on Ebay. Having done a lot of research I concluded that the machines by this manufaturer(Swedish) are superior to alternatives. I have been pleased with mine and consider it appoximately equivalent to our old high spec Siemens machine which was not economicaly repairable given the profiteering high end manufacturers make on replacement control panels. At £400 I doubt anyone will find a machine as durable or economicaly repairable as the AW23. ISE also make another more expensive washing machine for heavy duty ... Read the complete review
