Advantages: Attractive Looks, AAA Rated machine

Disadvantages: Big, Expensive

I took delivery of the new LG WM1460/5FHD about six months ago and I am suitably impressed.

+'s on this Machine

+ 1400 spin speed which means less creases and clothes come out practically dry
+ 7kg wash which means you can do effectively two loads in one
+ AAA rated so it saves £46 a year compared to your average machine
+ Linear motor so there is very little vibration - in fact you can balance a 20p on the machine and it stays standing on its edge
+ Mine is in silver and suits any kitchen
+ Timers mean you can make use of economy 7 electricity and have it coming on at night
+ Child lock to prevent accidents
+ Digital display and countdown

-'s on this machine

- Bigger than an average appliance by 5cm's at the front, therefore doesn't fit all kitchens correctly
- Door looks a little too big in some places
- Bloody expensive

Expect to pay £500 for this baby and be sure to have it delivered. It is massive.

It pays for itself in how much and how efficiently it cleans and will last for years.

It looks smart in white or silver and has a dial to select what programme you want and buttones for all other functions. It has a green display and red LED's which give it a modern look.

Don't take the insurance this machine will run and run

I live in the US and am seeking a front loading LG with the controls on the front, so it will go under a counter The photos I see on this review indicate that is what you have. In the states, LG says this model is not available. Will you confirm whether the controls on your model are on top or on the front? YOu can email me at sarahglowder@hotmail.com. Thanks.

Agree 100%, had purchased a 1460 in October (discontinued and replaced by the superior 1480), have been meaning to write op. just not had time. Would add the motor is brushless and that machine is very quiet, slient when washing and easily possible to talk over when full out on 1400rpm! Very stable machine and it comes with a 5yr parts/2yr labour warrenty as part of the £500. 'nuff said, i'll save the rest for my op.! Had previously been a Hotpoint "fan", but not any longer!
