LG WM 1290FHB: ... also purchased an LG WM-1290 FHB. Apart from the terrible banging which seems to be a common problem and the fact that it moves across the floor as if to escape (I have wedged a shoe above it so it can t move too far) the problem I have is that water shoots out from the soap dispenser tray throughout the entire washing cycle. Has anyone experienced that problem? I wish now I d kept our Zannusi which was 22 yrs old ...

	LG WM 1280FHD ... husband bought this machine 3 years ago. So far we have had no problems - apart from the fact it doesnt really fit into our fitted kitchen properly due to the depth being a cm or so more than other normal washing machines (we have had to take a drawer and door off a cupboard to accomodate it). However, despite these problems, we love the large load capacity (7kg on cotton wash so we can do bedding and towels all in one wash for example), the timer function and most of all the childlock (our toddler absolutely loves nothing better than fiddling with buttons that make noises - the child lock has saved my delicates being washed on a 95C wash on various occaisions). 	LG WM 1485FHD ... research on available products was certainly rewarded when the LG WM-1485FHD arrived in 2002. The household at that time, comprising three 20+ males, one teenage girl and myself, had done no washing for over three weeks and the result was ENORMOUS. The initial power up caused great excitement amongst the boys - lots of flashing lights and electronic beeps for the next twenty minutes as they switched it on, off, on, off - get the picture? Typical! Eventually, it was used for its real purpose and the 7.5Kg capacity drum cleared the backlog in three loads. 	LG WM 1290FHB ... purchased this model of LG washing machine two years ago from Comet taking out the extended warranty ? something I don?t normally do but as we were moving house I didn?t want to take any risks. This model was to replace an old Hotpoint which I had had for 12 years and had given me good service. I was reluctant to buy another as there was a lot of bad press about this make and the man at Comet assured me that LG were a good make. The machine cost £350 (we got a good discount through trading in the old machine).
