Had 2 Hotpoints break down in 5 years. Engineer said most washers in this league were the same, quality had dropped and they didnt last as long as they used to. The latest Hotpoint lasted just over 2 years and the motherboard had gone,not worth replacing cost wise. It had become noisy on final spin to the point we had to turn the TV up to hear.Asked his recommend, he said without doubt Miele he said they were expensive but good quality. Had heard of them but thought they were too expensive.Ordered another Hotpoint in haste but after searching internet found this model for #525 with 5 years guarantee .So bit the bullet and what a difference. Heavy and well built,all metal drum, no plastic paddles that break off.Easy to use, no gimmicks and definately washes better. Quiet spin.If in doubt about cheaper makes go for this one but dont pay Comet/John Lewis prices.
