Advantages: runs quietly, easy to use, combination wash/dryer is great, when it works

Disadvantages: Dryer keeps breaking down, 'registering' for the free 5-year parts and labour warranty

Our Miele wash/dryer WT2670 broke down when it was just 14mths old, some part needed replacing, then 2 years on it broke down again, the washing doesn't dry, faulty fan belt or condenser? Miele states that they last an average of 20 years or 15,000 working hours. If they are so confident in their high quality products and the longevity of them, why do they insure them? We have not registered for this 'Free 5-year parts and labour', as we believed in their products. When it broke down the second time, I was told that I have to pay for everything myself (the 2-year warranty ran out) and that one has to register because the insurance company needs this certificate, which you get only when you register within 14 days of purchase.
My verdict: this machine is too expensive for a household product that doesn't fullfil what it promises. Sorry, what Miele promises!

Summary: Personally I would not buy it again. I'd try a Bosh or else
