Our previous Electrolux washing machine was solidly built and lasted us 13 years through 2 babies (lots of washing!!) but when it finally gave up the ghost we started looking round and decided on a Servis washing machine for £250 (in 2000). This has only lasted 4 years and keeps cutting out on us halfway through the wash cycle. 6th April 2004 - I telephoned Servis (as we have an extended guarantee from Comet). I was told that an engineer would call the next day (7th April) excellent!!. 3 washing machines have lived in our house. A Hoover one during the 80's, another Hoover one during the 90's, and now we have a Servis one upon the near-demise of the last one. This Servis machine (which retails for around £250 in Littlewood's Index's current catalogue) is one of the cheapest models awailable. The cheapest one being the same machine at the 900 speed model for a £50 note less. Now, not being too choosy about washing machines, aslong as we got one that was good enough, we got this.
