Good machine, does as it should, although ecologically confused?? (Tricity Bendix AW1201)

Advantages: Washes clothes, good choice of cycles, apparantly eco friendly

Disadvantages: Very long cycles that take ages, no handwash option

I've had this washing machine since May, and so far it has worked well, with no problems, breakages or leakage. The model is sold as an eco friendly option, and comes packed with literature about how it's cycles reduce the amount of water and energy used, and so forth. Now, I'm sure that's correct, but how they've done that I don't know, as they cycles are about twice as long as any machine I've had before, even on a half or delicates load! That really has been the biggest surprise from this machine, given that my last machine was a very old one and took half the time to clean my clothes than this very modern one. Also, the "eco wash" cycle is at 60 degrees - the only 30 degree option is in the delicates range, and 60 doesn't sound very eco friendly to me?? Still, the choice of cycles is good, although there could be more choice in the delicates cycle, such as a handwash option.

Summary: All in all, reliable, if slightly confusing!
