I think these settings are fairly general for washers but the positive for this machine is that they are easy to use as. I tend to use the 40 degrees cotton setting for most of my washes, unless I am doing a white wash and then I tend to use a higher temperature, and have been pleased with the wash results. I live in a shared house and this is the washer that is available to use.
