i got this machine off Ebay for £50 which is a good price for this machine, even for its age. The machine, even though been cared for and lightly used may having an imput, is a very strong build and to typical zanussi/electrolux quality. You ca't get machines as good as this one anymore so if you see one second hand and your in desperate need of a second hand washing machine then do not hesitate to go and buy it, unless, ofcourse if its broken! it has programmes from A to P including 3 cottons 2 prewash(different temparatures) mixed fabrics and a delicates programme, things like that etc. they are all very effective, except a couple of washes are a bit too long for my liking eg the cottons 40. the cottons 60 is the same but its perfect for getting towels clean. also, the machine is hot and cold fill so it doesnt always waste time heating the water, so even a cottons 90 wash isnt too long. its especially better than modern machines at spinning as it doesnt faff about, just goes for it, but if its too badly unstable, it will try again. It also has helpful options like spin reduction 1050-500 and rinse hold for if your out and dont want the clothes to smell. even the 1050 is just as good as my mums 1400 as it spins at 1050 for longer than modern machines tend to spin at faster spin speeds. excellent quality along with its partners, AEG Tricity Bendix (discontinued) and Electrolux. Im impressed with this machine thoroughly 10/10!
Mixed feelings about this machine, the 40 degrees, 50 & 60 degree cycles work very well, producing good cleaning results, each of these cycles take between 60-90 mins ( a little long I think!) I have a problem with the 95 degree cycle, in which I do my whites including my sons bodysuits (which have all manner of grime on them). At this temperature you expect your clothes to come out pristine, unfortunatley they do not, it stubbornly refuses to shift a lot of the stains, and I sometimes get better results using the 60 degree wash. Also the hot wash takes a whopping 120 (yawn) minutes to complete. The machine itself is attractive, but the powder drawer is not wide another to fit ariel tablets in (i have to break them down first). It is resonably priced though. A good first buy, or if you don't have children!!!
