After being irritatingly ripped off by somebody on Gumtree, we decided to splash out on a brand new machine. Considerable research took us to this machine which we bought at Curry's for approximately £250.
The design of the machine is nothing particularly exciting, it's white and it's of a standard (although not overly deep) size. It will fit under your average counter, like it does ours and isn't too heavy to carry - we managed down some very awkward stairs to our flat. The dial on the top of the machine is quite aesthetically pleasing, and I really enjoy having the digital display to let me know just how much is left of a cycle. The door clicks shut very firmly, although it needs quite a big push to get in there. The drawers I have not found to be too clogged up with detergent as we use it quite frequently, but I can see potential for gunk in there if you don't keep on top of it!
The settings on the machine are varied, you can do anything from 5 shirts to a jeans wash. We usually stick to a cottons load on the relevant temperature, which you can set to the level of your choosing. You can also choose the spin setting and whether it's a quick wash or just a normal length. We usually set things to the thirty degree mark on quick and the washing is done within an hour. We've found that on the higher spin settings, this machine can really go crazy with the momentum and it can wiggle out of its slot quite easily. It's also very loud and even in the next room with the door shut, we can hear it quite perfectly!
At the price for this brand this is a good buy. It's really served us well and was easy to install. There's nothing I'd like it to do that it doesn't already do.
Zanussi ZWF12070 W1 drum will not turn on washing cycle - faulty PCB was replaced when 10 months old. Worked for 2 months now needs another PCB! asked to pay £200. My neighbour has the exact machine, also the PCB burnt during warranty period.I don't recomment this machine.
After the door broke on my washing machine and had to be forced open so that I could get my washing out. I decided it was time to go and buy a new washing machine.
I like to shop around for a good deal before I spend my hard earned cash on expensive items, as most washing machines cost from £200 upwards depending on where you buy and which size washing machine you go for. So after checking out the main stores, Currys, Argos and Comet I spotted a Zanussi 12070W 1200 spin on offer at Comet for £230 if you bought it and took it away the same day.
Now, I'm a bit dubious when it comes to the larger stores sales as most of the time you find the item you want, go to get it only to be told it's not in stock and that a similar product is in stock but is usually a little more expensive, which is what happened when I went to get my washing machine.
The next model up the range was £260 so, I decided to look elsewhere.
I then went into town and found a small shop which sold electrical goods.
They had the same washing machine in stock for £240 then as I was looking the salesman came along and we told him that we had seen the Zanussi in Comet for £230, he said that he would match the price, or he could even show us another Zanussi with a 1400 spin which had been delivered but never plugged in, at a ladies house who had ordered a 1600 spin and had been taken the wrong machine. So, they could no longer sell it as new.
When he showed us this model which was a 1400 spin for the same price £230 we decided to have it and paid and took it home there and then.
Once home, we plumbed it into the water and started to do the washing which had piled up. The first thing I noticed was how much quieter this machine was to my old one. It holds 6kg of washing which is 2kg more than my older washer. I was feeling better about the bargain each minute I read about it.
It is really easy to use.
Open the door , load the washing, select the program, add washing powder and press go, easy.
There are different programs for different clothing types.
There is a wheel on the left hand side of the machine which clearly shows what type of clothing and what the temperatures of washing are.
Cottons - 95 or you can do the eco wash which you can choose 60or 40 degrees.
Synthetics - 50-40 or easy iron.
Delicates - 40-30
Wool - 40
Hand wash - 40
Handwash cold -30
Silk - 30
Rinse, Drain then Spin.
When you choose a program a timer comes on to tell you how long the wash will take, you can then press the Options button to add extra Rinse, Quick wash and Pre-wash.
The programs will not start until you press the Start button which is on the right hand side of the machine.
Once the program has started you can leave it to run it's cycle, the machine will then stop and beep three times loudly to tell you it has finished, it does this three times if you ignore it then stops beeping.
You can time the programs to start at any time during the day or night too, if you have to go out and need to do a wash or have economy 7 and need to run your machine at night.
You have to level the machine when you install it as there is an adjustable foot under the front of the machine to level it, if you don't do this it can be noisy. It also has a child lock on the door to stop little hands getting into it, turn the child lock clockwise with a coin to activate it, this can be found on the front of the door near the hinge.
There is a little compartment at the bottom for draining the machine if necessary, this need only be done once every six months or so, just to maintain the machine.
I am really happy with this zanussi, it is easy to install as there is only 1 hot water pipe to attach to the mains water supply, it levels easy and the programs are easy to use.
It holds more washing that my other washer used to and is a reasonable price. With a 12 months guarantee. I'd recommend it to you.
Zanussi is quite a popular make, which seams to have became now, more popular.
The machine its self has a nice look to it, with the dial in the middle and all of the setting on that, it also has extra options to change the spin or have a half load.
The delay start is also great on this machine, as you can let your machine do its wash during the night, or have it freshly done for when you get home.
It has a 6kg drum, which is good
A 1200 spin, which I find sufficient
Lots of extra setting, such as: Hand wash, dedicates.
The machine is nice and quite when running as well, so if you use it at night it's great.
Looking into the book for it; it is A rated for energy, so I have the piece of mind that it isn't costing me too much to run.
The machines delay start only works at 3, 6 or 9 hours tho.
The dial has loads of setting as well, so its quite easy to select the wrong one, but it can be paused and restarted.
I paid £269.99 for the machine. Zanussi give you a years guarantee with this as well.
I just moved into a new flat about 4 months ago, and of course the place needed all the necessary appliances. I did a lot of research online before deciding on a washing machine that best fit my needs and decided on the Zanussi ZWF12070. I purchased the machine from John Lewis for around £229 which came with a 3 year parts and labor warranty.
This appliance comes in the color white, and will fit in with the decor of any modern kitchen. The dimension are as follows: H85 x W60 x D55.2cm. This machine fits perfectly under the counter. The detergent is added via a drawer on the top left side and the clothes are loaded through the door located on the front.
I must say after receiving the machine I was pleasantly surprised. I love the amount of options available on this machine. For a majority of clothes I choose the mini 30 option, this cycle will use less energy and gets clothes clean in about 30 minutes. Another great function on this machine is the sport 40 cycle. My husband brings home his sweaty football gear and I just pop it in the machine at this cycle and they are spotless clean.
For items like towels or items that are only lightly soiled you have the option to let the machine run through its regular mode or you can choose to make the wash "super quick" which I really like. For more intensely soiled clothing there is a pre-wash or intensive wash option.
There is also an extra rinse option if you feel your clothes will need it.
The amount of different cycles and variety of modes are easy to understand and control. Although the spin is rated at a "B" I have to say most times I don't even use the full 1200 spin, I leave the machine on either a 700 or 900rpm spin and clothes come out fully wrung out. There is also an easy iron mode that will not spin as fast to reduce creasing. The night wash program also you to still do laundry into the late hours without disturbing anyone.
There is also a a delay and pause function on the machine as well. You can pause the wash during any point in the cycle or delay the wash to begin up to 3, 6, or 9 hours later. A hold option is also available if you begin a wash and for example someone wants to use the shower, just pause the load and resume whenever you are ready.
I had used washing tablets with this machine for 4 months with no problems dissolving, until recently there would be residue left over in the drawer. I switched to a liquid detergent which has easily solved the problem. I would suspect that the water in our area has more to do with the lack of dissolving tablets rather than the machine, but I thought I would point it out for anyone thinking about purchasing.
