Advantages: different modes, lots of options, easy to use
Disadvantages: tablets do not dissolve
I just moved into a new flat about 4 months ago, and of course the place needed all the necessary appliances. I did a lot of research online before deciding on a washing machine that best fit my needs and decided on the Zanussi ZWF12070. I purchased the machine from John Lewis for around £229 which came with a 3 year parts and labor warranty.
--Description:--
This appliance comes in the color white, and will fit in with the decor of any modern kitchen. The dimension are as follows: H85 x W60 x D55.2cm. This machine fits perfectly under the counter. The detergent is added via a drawer on the top left side and the clothes are loaded through the door located on the front.
--Advantages:--
I must say after receiving the machine I was pleasantly surprised. I love the amount of options available on this machine. For a majority of clothes I choose the mini 30 option, this cycle will use less energy and gets clothes clean in about 30 minutes. Another great function on this machine is the sport 40 cycle. My husband brings home his sweaty football gear and I just pop it in the machine at this cycle and they are spotless clean.
For items like towels or items that are only lightly soiled you have the option to let the machine run through its regular mode or you can choose to make the wash "super quick" which I really like. For more intensely soiled clothing there is a pre-wash or intensive wash option.
There is also an extra rinse option if you feel your clothes will need it.
The amount of different cycles and variety of modes are easy to understand and control. Although the spin is rated at a "B" I have to say most times I don't even use the full 1200 spin, I leave the machine on either a 700 or 900rpm spin and clothes come out fully wrung out. There is also an easy iron mode that will not spin as fast to reduce creasing. The night wash program also you to still do laundry into the late hours without disturbing anyone.
There is also a a delay and pause function on the machine as well. You can pause the wash during any point in the cycle or delay the wash to begin up to 3, 6, or 9 hours later. A hold option is also available if you begin a wash and for example someone wants to use the shower, just pause the load and resume whenever you are ready.
--Disadvantages:--
I had used washing tablets with this machine for 4 months with no problems dissolving, until recently there would be residue left over in the drawer. I switched to a liquid detergent which has easily solved the problem. I would suspect that the water in our area has more to do with the lack of dissolving tablets rather than the machine, but I thought I would point it out for anyone thinking about purchasing.
Summary: a good washing machine buy
