Advantages: Large drum capacity, delayed start, fast spin speed
Disadvantages: None
I bought this washing machine primarily on price - it was the best buy for around £250.
I had set out to buy a machine that was simple to operate, and this machine certainly is clear for all the family. The temperature dial is clearly divided into sections for cotton, synthetics, delicates or wool, with temperatures within these sections. For example, if you wanted a 40% wash, this is available in each of the wool, synthetic, cotton or delicates sections - you just choose. There is a comprehensive written guide on the front of the machine to tell you which programme to select - avoiding the need to constantly refer to the paper guide that comes with most washing machines. Straightforward slection buttons on the front give you half load, pre wash or delayed start options, and the spin speed is chosen from a second dial. Although this sounds complicated, it is incredibly easy to decide which programme to choose!
My other two buying criteria were a fast spin speed and a large load capacity - the 7kg load and 1600 spin speed fulfilled both of these. Like most Zanussi's, the machine has a nice quiet spin - but it does tend to make a rather alarming grinding noise before the spin starts. I was a bit worried, until I consulted the troubleshooter and read that many customers are worried by this noise, but it is a normal part of the programme.
One of the things I like about it is the large degergent dispenser. A small detail, but it means that I do not slop washing liquid and conditioner all over the sides when I am in a hurry. The dispenser is really easy to take out and clean - very different from my old machine which needed a strong wrestling arm to take the dispenser out!
If I could change one thing about it, it would be the timing of the delayed start. You can choose from 2, 4 or 8 hours. It is very simple to use, and I try to delay the start to the early hours of the morning when electricity is cheaper. If I put the machine on in the evening, I would prefer a 2,4,6,8 delay option, just to give me more flexibility.
I have had the machine for nearly a year and with a young family, use it every day. It has not let me down so far.
Summary: An excllent buy
