Drum went on Easter Sunday 2013 still under guarantee and it will take 2 weeks to have it totally fixed. This machine is a load of crap stay well away from it.

      A good sturdy machine

This was my old washing machine and I had it for 3 years and then gave it to a friend, who was pleased.
I did this because I had an offer on a different model.
This has a top spin speed of 1200, which is not the best- many machines now have 1400.
I found this machine a bit noisy( my floorboards probably), but reliable. It had a quick wash cycle which I like, as I can get a small load done in 26 minutes.
I really enjoyed this function, as quite honestly, our clothes are never more than superficially dirty.
I did wash my nephew's filthy football kit and I used a strong washing pwder and a 60 degree wash and it came out beautifully.
As with all Zanussi machines the drum is very well made and strong and the seal and door hinges built to last.
It does not have the largest drum in the world, other machines are more capacious for family loads.
It emits 3 beeps when your load is finished, which is handy.
It functions well on the delicates cycle and washes woollens fairly gently, although I still think handwashing is best and safest.
The machine functions well on a cooler wash, which is good for energy saving.
I used about 40 degrees as I do not think my powder dissolved well in this machine at 30.
The build quality is fine as good as any machine I have owned, if not a bit better.
The controls are well placed and easy to find and use.
I did clean out the filter from time to time as all sorts gets stuck in the trap. The trap is easy to access and open, which is not true of my new machine.

A free handy hint ( actually from the Zanussi engineer): To keep your element limescale free: put in a load of Calgon straight in the drum on a boiling hot wash with the drum absolutely empty. Do this once a month and your machine will last loads longer and you will keep your electricity bill down!
I have also been told using washing soda on a hot wash does much thesame job.

The Zanussi ZGW1120M is looking pretty, its sound level could be a bit better while spinning otherwise it is really descent. It does look solid specialy the door.It does a standard wash in 32 min or 26 if you are in a hurry add 6 more minutes for the spin and you will end up with some very well washed and spined clothes. You can program this washing machine several hours in advance which I find handy, you can select the speed of the spin, make a programme which take in consideration how dirty are the clothes. The digital display appear as green ,is clearly visible in daylight or in the dark. The machine emit a 3 notes beep when the cycle is finish. With a A rate and a fair price too,I am very happy to recommend this product.

        Advantages

        Disadvantages

If your looking for a washer that will last and do what it's supposed to do with no fancy functions

Zanussi in general is well known for its high standard products and its fairly affordable price range. This washing machine has standard measurements 85x60x53 and is front-loading available in your usual white. It has a load capacity of 6 kg and a maximum spinning speed of 1200 RPM although this speed is unvariable. T he digital display and intelligent electronic controls could need some time getting used to but once you fiddle around and find out how each button works you'll see it's quite complete. The washer has 3 special speeds: Delicates, speed wash and extra rinsing and variable wash temperatures to suit each fabric.
It has an energy efficency of A+ albeit uses an average of 0.17 kWh on each wash, which is quite high in comparison to other washers, such as AEG LL 1820 an also uses 53 L of water per wash.

For those with kids, this washer doesn't have a child lock which I guess could come in handy. Also for those on the run who may not want to leave the clothes inside soaking so they get that stuffy smell when you open it - it doesn't have a delayed wash start timer, which depending on each person can be useful.

I found this washer to be very useful, it hasn't got your up to date science fiction functions, it hasn't got an anti-wrinkle wash button on it, which some do.. It's simply your standar washer, easy to use when you've investigated it and washes your clothes which is what it's meant to do.

Fair price range: ranging from 220 pounds on the web (example 365electrical.com)
