I wanted a smart looking watch that would seem professional, but without a large price tag. There are many watches similar in appearance to this Accurist, but at three or four times the price. This watch has an RRP of £60, however can be obtained as cheaply as £40 depending on where you go for it.
The watch has a black face with white and silver markings. There is a small white box at the three o-clock position with the date in, however you need to remember to alter it on the first day of certain months, as it cycles through 31 days. This means that this morning, for example, on the 1st of October, my watch still showed "31", as there is no 31st September. The crown pulls out two notches, the first to alter the date and the second to alter the time. There is a very satisfying "click" to it so you know exactly what position you're in.
Other features include 50m water resistance.
The watch has a metal strap, with several links and a fairly large clasp. If you don't know how a clasp works, it's incredibly difficult to describe! However there are two main types:
One which has two "buttons" to release, and one which just pulls to release, but usually has a metal cover that covers the clasp. This has the cover. On previous watches, they have come loose and "flap around" annoyingly, but this does not appear to be doing so. Time will tell!
