I have had my eye on this for ages and finally got it at the beginning of around March time. It's lovely! It was a real bargain too at just £20 with free delivery from ASOS. This is a really pretty and feminine watch which has so much character to it if that makes sense - it's not your typical plain, boring watch. The watch is describe as Vintage Style and it definetly looks really shabby chic and vintage which I love as I am a big fan of vintage looking stuff. The watch came packaged in a cute little black gift type box which has the ASOS logo on the front. It is not anything special but it's not ugly either and I have kept mine to store my watch in when i'm not wearing it. Inside the box it has a foamy cushion which I love as it keeps my watch from getting scratched. The clock face is a creamy off-white - almost beige, and it has pretty silver detailing on it which consists of floral detail and birds sitting on branches with them in different poses which is so cute! It doesn't look tacky at all and the detailing is discreet and you have to look quite closely to see the detail which I think is good as it makes it more of a personal watch. There is then a small circle which is the actual clock face. It has roman numerals with the hours 12, 3, 6, 9. The numerals are nice and clear and I got used to them easily. The clock hands are thin and slightly pointed and add to the vintage look. The watch is 5% glass and then it has a metal bit around it which has buckles on and this is where the thick black leather strap is. The strap has 7 holes so it adjusts to any size wrist. I have tiny wrists so was quite concerned it would look big and bulky and be too big, however because of the ability to adjust the sizing in such a wide range it is really simple and looks great. The sixth hole fits me just right and I have no worries that the watch will fall off as it fits comfortably and securely. As I said above the leather strap is quite thick but not ridiculously so and it is not a bulky watch. I'd guess the width of the strap is around an inch and a half wide which I think is reasonably thick compared to my other watches. The leather is a nice and soft and doesn't irritate my wrist in the slightest. It is easy to clean too and a baby wipe usually does the job. The watch is nice and lightweight but feels sturdy too and it is simple/discreet enough to wear to Uni and work as it goes with any outfit. I've found it makes my more casual outfits look a bit posher too! I have had my watch for a few months now and it is still in good condition. I have had no trouble with the leather becoming tacky or the metal becoming rusty and I wear this watch daily so it is definetly very hard wearing. Overall I would reccomend this watch!
Everyone needs a watch and I have several, most of which I have reviewed on Dooyoo! This is going to be my last watch review, at least for a while! The others I have are too old for me to suggest on the Dooyoo catalogue. This watch, however, is one of my most recent acquisitions. Towards the end of last year I was living at home and because I was bored I spent rather a lot of time shopping online! One of the online stores I frequented was ASOS. ASOS stands for 'as seen on screen', and originally sold clothes and accessories that had been seen on celebrities. After a while it branched out, and now sells several brands including River Island and Benefit as well as own-brand goods. This particular watch is an ASOS own brand watch and it first caught my eye back in November. Just before Christmas there was a promotion on watches and this watch was available for the bargain price of £12 - I think it was originally around the £20 mark. I decided to buy it! ***About the watch*** The watch is described as 'vintage style' which I assume is because of the watch face. This is white with a beautiful pattern of birds resting on branches. The actual watch face is a smaller circle within this pattern. This design was originally what drew me to the watch as I love the vintage look. The hours of three, six, nine and twelve are displayed in Roman numerals. The black on white design makes the watch easy to see despite the small watch face. The watch has a burnished metal surround and buckle and a black leather strap. It is a quartz watch and is not water resistant, so try to keep it from getting wet. It is guaranteed for twelve months. The watch comes packaged in a simple black box with the ASOS logo. Inside, the watch is wrapped around a black cushion. ***The watch and me*** The watch has 7 holes; I have quite thin wrists and usually wear mine on the fifth or sixth hole, so there is a reasonable amount of variation there for different size wrists. The watch looks and feels sturdy and well-made and I've never felt there's any risk of it falling off my wrist or coming apart. It seems to tell the time accurately as far as I can see, which is something I would expect from a quartz watch. Because the watch is black, it goes well with most of my outfits yet the pretty design on the face makes it look a bit different. It is suitable for casual or smarter wear. I love wearing the watch and I've been complimented on it a couple of times. I really love it and while I'm chuffed I got it for the bargain price of £12, I would have been happy to pay full price for it. An excellent buy!
Asos is the best place for finding on trend fashion at high street prices. I have recently been shopping more at ASOS than on the high street because I just can't find the clothes I want. The quality also sucks as I have bought quite a few things from New Look and Dorothy Perkins and I find that they don't last very long. As it was my cousin's birthday and she really wanted a watch I thought I would be the one to get it. She was turning 12 and wanted a watch to wear at school and so I thought it was best that I get a black belted watch rather than a fashion watch. A cheaper watch is better because she isn't the best at keeping things safe and well I was going to get a watch from either Argos or Asda but when I was browsing the ASOS site I came across this vintage style watch. I was going to initially going to get it for myself but when it had arrived I realised that the strap looked too thick on my hand. I love the design of the dial which is a swirly flower and bird design. The colour of the dial is a really light creamy colour which gives it the vintage look together with the grey design. It is a dial within a dial. By this I mean that there is a smaller circle within the dial that has the clock time and hands. The clock has roman numerals and there is only the 4 main numbers. The rest of the dial is the decorative pattern. The smaller dial is shifted to the right and it does look better on the side rather than the centre. I would have liked the watch better if there wasn't a dial within a dial, rather there was the decorative design as the background. Also I think that the belt was too thick. It cost £20 and I think that this was a reasonable price.
