Advantages: A good watch to wear whilst doing sporting activities. Comfortable on the wrist. Cheap

Disadvantages: Cheap and tacky looking, No stopwatch feature

During the Summer holidays, my son attended a local football coaching course and as a free gift for attending the course, they were given a Breo Sports watch.

This watch is available in a vast array of colours, with my son receiving a blue one. The idea behind the gift was nice, but unfortunately the watch isn't adjustable and these are generally meant for adults I believe so the watch was way too big for my sons wrist and you aren't able to adjust it to fit, so I have found myself using this watch for the odd occasion I actually make use of my gym membership as most of my watches are good quality watches that aren't really suitable for working out so I have adopted this watch from my son for those occasions.

As it was a gift, I have had to look the price up for this review and the watch tends to retail at around £4.99 including delivery online from places such as Amazon so it is a bit of a bargain really. The watch has a really small, rectangular digital display on which you can set the time and date. As it is a 'sports' watch, you would expect it to have some sort of stop watch facility, but the watch itself is rather basic and simply tells the time and that's it. As said, you can set the date on it, but this doesn't show on the initial display and you have to press the tiniest button by the watch display in order to show you the date which is too much hassle for me and therefore I just tend to leave it on the time setting.

The date and time are really easy to set though and it simply took me a minute or so to do this task and again, you do it via the button at the side of the display. It isn't fiddly and you don't need any instruction or guidance to do this task as it is pretty much self explanatory.

Breo describe this watch as 'a statement of design and quality', though personally I have to disagree for that. It is a decent watch to wear for exercising and other sporting activities as it is smooth and has no sharp bits that won't get caught in any equipment, sits comfortably on the wrist and at such a bargain price, it doesn't really matter if you do damage it as you would simply replace it with another.

The strap material is rubber which does have a decent amount of give in it, though so far it hasn't stretched or become mis-shapen so it still fits my wrist as comfortably as it did when I first acquired this watch.

Although the watch itself can't be adjusted, it does come in sizes of small, medium and large. I have no idea what mine is, but the sizes of the watches are 16cm, 17cm and 18cm respectively. They are suitable for both men and women and there are no straps at all on this watch so it simply slides over the hand and onto the wrist.

Overall, I certainly wouldn't wear this watch as a fashion statement as it does have rather a cheap and tacky look to it but it does come in handy for going to the gym and exercise classes. I am someone who always needs to know what the time is so I am lost without a watch, but I hate wearing decent watches to the gym in case they get damaged so this is perfect for any sporting activities. It is a very basic watch, but then for the price you pay, you can't expect much else.

I personally wouldn't call it a sports watch as such, due to the lack of functions that may come in handy for sporting activities such as an alarm or stop watch, but for general sporting use, this is a pretty decent and convenient watch and comes with a recommendation from me, though not a high one as it certainly isn't the height of fashion!

Summary: A decent sports watch
