I have owned two baby G watches in my life and have loved both of them. The first eye-catching thing I like about them is that they are chunky, so if your the type of women who wants a dainty watch there not for you. There made from rubbery/plastic type material and so because of this are very durable I cant tell you the amount of times that this has been dropped and never broke, the screen is also protected as it has little bars with the rubber over the top and bottom of the screen to stop it hitting the floor so it wont crack! The only thing about it being the sort of material it is, is that one it can make your wrist sweat when it is hot and also after wearing it for a while the colour you had (mine was originally baby blue) starts to fade to a brown type colour no matter how well you look after your watch nothing seems to be able to prevent this. It is slightly annoying as this happens relatively quickly to how long the actual watch will last! They come with many features alarms, times in other countries but to be honest I dint really use these. There's a button to press to make the screen light up which is really handy when you want to see what the time is at night. These vary alot in price depending on the model you have and features it contains however for a basic one your still looking at around £60.00, so they are pricey. Overall though I do love these and think they are worth the money!
I have had my Baby G Shock watch for almost 6 years. During this time I have worn it pretty much constantly (yes, even in the shower and in bed!) I got this watch because I love the way they look. And now I know how durable they are, it's just another plus point. They do have a myriad of features, most of which I confess to not using because I find them quite tricky to program. I had to search online for instructions to reset the time! However, with the instructions in front of me, it was relatively simple. My only complaint is that over time, the watch has discloured significantly, from a light purple to a browny sort of colour! I understand I have worn it a LOT, but I have also kept it clean. This doesn't stop me using it as it still works perfectly, just doesn't look so good now. I would be a bigger fan of these if they were a bit simpler! I only need my watch to tell the time in this country (maybe the alarm is quite handy), but I am sure there are others who make full use of all the features. I would still recommend these watches, as I really like them. But they are expensive if all you want is a watch to tell you what time it is!
I used to have a real watch obsession and have quite a lot stashed away in my cupboard and these range from one or two character watches (Elmo being my favourite!!) to a gorgeous Dolce And Gabbana one. However, the main one I wear on a very regular basis is a Casio Baby G watch which I received some years ago as a present from my mum. The watch is a striking pink which was an instant hit with me as I just love anything pink! The strap is a thick cloth strap which has a cord like kind of feel and this makes it extremely hard wearing but also washable which is a great plus in my opinion. (The strap in the picture is a gel strap but mine is material). The face of the watch has two thin bars across which have a rubber cushion and I presume this is to prevent scratches. It looks a little unusual but I personally think it adds to the appeal of the watch. Surrounding the face of the watch is a chunky pink rubber casing which again really protects the watch from any damage. The watch itself is digital with a number of features shown on the face at all times. I will try and describe it as best I can so you can get an idea of the design and features. At the top of the face you are shown the first three letters of the day of the week in capital letters. Underneath that you are shown the date, and under that you will find the time. Around the face of the watch are four buttons - adjust, alarm, 24hour and mode select. To alter any of those features you simply press the button and you have the option to change them which you simply do by pressing the corresponding buttons when prompted to - this is done as with any digital watch where the screen will flash so you know what you are changing. Under the watch face is a long white button with a G on, and when this is pressed the face of the watch will illuminate blue so it is ideal for when you need to check the time in the night! Watch Information: Brand: Casio Model Number: BG-198V-4AVER Part number: BG-198V-4AVER Display Type: Digital Clasp: Buckle Case Material: Plastic Case Diameter: 50 millimetres Case Thickness:15 millimetres Band Material: Material Strap Band Length: Standard Band color: Pink Dial Colour: Pink Dial Calendar: 5 Daily Alarms, Telememo, Stopwatch Item weight: 250 grams Movement: Quartz Digital Water Resistant Depth: 200 metres Warranty type: 2 Years Casio Manufacturers Warranty This watch really is shock resistant, in the years I have had it there have been numerous occasions where I have knocked it, even once where I have dropped it and stood on it!! Like I say I have had this watch quite a few years now and there is only one single scratch on the face and that is barely noticeable so the bars and rubber really do protect it from any damage. The alarm on the watch is great, in the past I used it as my alarm clock every morning but now it is just easier to use my phone or I would still be using the watch. One great feature with the watch is that the calendar has been pre-programmed all the way to the year 2039, now while I know my watch won't last that long it just means that any future replacement will be programmed well in advance. It is important to note that this watch is very chunky so it may not be everyone's cup of tea, but while it is chunky it isn't overly heavy so it doesn't feel uncomfortable when wearing it. The cost of this watch at the moment is £56.00 on Amazon and that is the discounted price as the normal retail price is £70.00. The watch also comes in blue so it isn't just aimed at females but I would personally say it is more feminine and I wouldn't imagine many men buying this watch! I am not sure if there are other colours available as I have only seen blue and pink on sale. So, would I recommend this watch? In a word YES! I think it is a fantastic watch, it is comfortable to wear, the face is a great size so telling the time is very simple at a glance, the backlight is a good feature for the dark and it comes in a lovely presentation box so it would make a great present. I really like this watch and when it finally gives up the ghost and dies on me I will certainly be getting a replacement. Thank you for reading my review :)
This baby g watch is bundled with features perfectly adapted for both the active women and tech-savvy teenage girl who want to wear their watch wherever they go or whatever activities they do. This is by far the best looking female sports watch around, and the most diverse. The features of this model are mainly the 40 cities world time with up to 27 time zones, telememo capacity, cool day counter, chronograph capabilities and an electro-luminescent (EL) backlight for viewing in low light conditions. Not to forget the regular time keeping features that come standard to all casio baby-g watches ranging from alarm feature, day, date and alarm and the cute characters that are also displayed. The stop watch feature is a must for me and comes in handy in many activities like running but also cooking. I also use the alarm featuire regularily as my job has me working all kinds of shifts and I know it won't let me down! The watch is also incredibly water resistant up to 30m I believe. This makes it great for swimming and even when you are on holiday and you don't want to be slipping your watch off when you get in and out of the pool or sea. Overall this watch is great I never have to take it off whatever I am doing!
