Advantages: Cheap, simple to use, lightweight
Disadvantages: Its just a bit naff looking
This Casio watch is probably one of the most simple and basic watches that you can actually get hold of. I bought this watch from Argos for £7.99, so no extra delivery charges to endure from ordering online, and I've got everything I expected out of it.
The watch has very limited functions (as you would expect for change form £10!) which are as follows:
Time - with option between a 12hr and 24hr clock
Alarm - a single daily alarm can be set, although for any deep sleepers out there I wouldn't rely on this to wake you up as its not very loud!
Stopwatch - a basic stopwatch which will also allows you to check lap times (ie freeze the clock so you can read it, whilst the stopwatch counter continues hidden)
Light - a small LED light which is sufficient to light up the screen to read the time, but nothing else.
Since the watch itself is made by Casio, it seems to be very reliable and pretty durable. I have dropped and banged it on numerous occasions and it continues to work fine. I owned one of these watches when I was younger (in addition to my recent "re-purchase"), and it lasted a very long time, certainly a number of years without needing any battery replacing. The watch is so cheap that by the time the battery has died it would be just as cost effective to buy a new watch.
The main reason I purchased this watch, and the reason why I would recommend it, is because its a great item to use as a stopwatch for any runners out there. I am by no means a serious runner, but do like to track my time which this is perfect for. The watch itself is lightweight so should not cause any irritation whilst running, and is reliable and durable to last though any rain, sweat and general thumps it may receive whilst being worn. Also the light feature makes it handy for use during the winter months as well as summer. By the same token I would also recommend the watch to anyone who might be undertaking some kind of adventure activity where you may want to either keep check of the time of day, or time taken. Since the watch is cheap there is no great loss if you do lose or break it, and it easily performs the basic tasks its required for.
All in all, this is definitely a "does what it says on the tin, and nothing else" type of product. It'll tell you the time, but that's about all.
Summary: Good purchase if you need something cheap to keep the time that you don't mind losing
