I received this watch as a present a while ago.
In my opinion the comfort of a watch is the most important thing to look for when shopping for a watch. I find this watch reasonably comfortable when comparing to metal bracelet watches, however I this this watch could of been more comfortable as it becomes very slightly uncomfortable with frequent movement of the wrist.
The looks of this watch are admittedly not the best in the world as the blue may look slightly weird when wearing something classical as it does not really have that smart look. However, if you are more of a laid back person then this watch is definitely cool. As the colours yellow and blue go well with sports clothes and casual clothes such as tracksuits and jeans.
The G-shock is one of the best watches for toughness as I have put this watch through all sorts of obstacles with the watch triumphant every time as I have yet to get a single scratch on the glass. The watch is shock resistant so no worries dropping the watch as it will not be affected.
The watch rarely loses time very very slightly as it is from a very reputable brand (Casio). The features such as the alarm, the stop watch and illumination are all great as they all perform they way they are supposed to as well as being easy to reach.
Overall I would recommend this watch to any one looking for a simple entry level watch that can last for a very long time. 4 stars due to slightly disappointing design.
What can I say, this is a fantastic watch. One of my first G-Shocks since my DW-6000 it brought the addiction back to me - and it is addicting to be a G-Shock owner.. One is never enough.
This one, for me, gets most use when I'm in the shower as it has a large, easy to read display. If it falls it takes the shock and the water just fine.
It looks a little chunky because it has a small diameter compared to some G-Shocks, but it has a classic look with a twist.
It is cheap for what you get: Shock resistant, water resistant and al ong battery life. The resin band is tough, the chrome ring is a nice little touch, the EL light does fine and to top it off, G-Shocks are now a fashionable item!
The E-Data memory function is good for storing small bits of info, but a bit redundant due to mobile phones, but the world time feature, stopwatch and timer come in handy.
The little sail design on the LCD is quite unique to this G-Shock and gives it a pleasant design cue.
Lastly, a very useful function is Auto-EL, which, when switched on, will automatically turn on the beautiful blue-green glow upon tilting the watch 45 degrees toward your face (the normal reading angle). I love that feature! It switches off after a few hours to save battery life, which is stated to be upto 10 years!
I've had this watch for quite a while now and as a timepiece it is first par-none. It hardly ever loses time, the batteries last perfectly in length and the display is clear and clean and allows you to see the time with ease.
The watch comes with a nice glow button that you press so you can see it in darkened space and this ramps up the utility massively as it becomes way too practical for furtively checking times in dark rooms etc.
It is light but perhaps looks a bit garish and bulky. I don't mind as it has a reassuringly solid feel to it so you know it works. It wont please style-seekers but for a good nice watch that works very well, this is a fantastic choice especially as the digital display comes with stopwatch and timer that are always nifty to have. My watch has not let me down ever, nor will it for you.
