18 Years Unstoppable Service (Casio G-Shock Watches)
Member Name: Terrycq
Advantages: Indestructable, Masses of Battery Life and still looks good Disadvantages: Strap and Facia Rotted after 10 years
I purchased my original Casio G Shock in 1985! I was a builder back then and got through watches at a rate of about 1 per year. I bought the watch from Argos for £25, an expensive choice for your average everyday watch, but it came with a two year warranty and promised to be tough, waterproof and to keep good time. The watch has certainly lived up to all those things and more. The watch has been worn to work everyday since it was purchased and has taken a battering from a whole host of things including hammers, scaffold tubes, bricks etc. It has been run over by a dumper truck, droped from rooftops and still it soldiers on. I am now in engineering and the watch has been put though it's paces with a variety of hazards including a whole cocktail of nasty chemicals and several trips through various machines, it's also been subjected to welding spatter and 3 months working in a foundry. Alas I have managed to crack the face right across the middle, but it is still working and still keeping out liquids. Oh and I've only had to have the battery renewed once since I bought it. Probably the best £25 I ever spent. Summary: Excellent Robust timepiece which will outlast any other watch in it's price range. |
